What could go wrong did go wrong with my bets today apart from the biggest odds of the lot with Rock My Way just winning at 5/1... one of those days. I think that means DRF will be the opposite
I had a shocker too. Might I topping it off.
Only positive I can take from today is that I've dodged the Champion Chase all season from an ante post perspective, but it's hardly much for me to shout about.
Does anyone ever take this day that seriously though when considering the Festival? I'm struggling to remember many horses coming back again and doing the business on spring ground 6/7 weeks later. I really don't think today will be much different

Have you looked at Native Rivers thread on Cheltenham meeting form. ?
Some really strong trends from 2 or 3 of today's races.
It's not Dublin festival levels of course but it's reasonable for UK types.

The novice handicap has historically been a good race to follow going forward and there were 1 or two eye catchers in that today.
I think there might be a couple of festival winners that were running at today's meeting.

Had comfort zone and back on the lash, then handed it all back on the rest of the races
Might I was a sickener in the last
As was cap du nord at Doncaster, the jockey was riding him like a slalom skier down the straight. Inside/outside/inside/outside haha.
Really struggling with the ground, and how quick its still riding. Was really difficult for horses to come through from off the pace. Those towards the frond end were able to get away
I thought Edwardstone was awesome today, considering this ^^^. Had to use a lot of energy to spring through to take the lead, but fair play to EdG for fighting back. That was a proper race today!
Not sure whether its worrying or not, but it feels to me the ground is running quick and this has been the case for a number of meets now.
Good trial day though. Might I was eye catching. Same with Panic Attack.
Saw a bunch of Podcaster's throughout the day. None of them looked happy
Walked passed one, and heard ".... its been small bets for me today"... which normally means "I've have no winners, I'd already emptied my bank and I dont want you to know that"

Otherwise known as 'I'm about evens for the day'!!
Watching all horses in flesh today I do think Stage Star stood out for me. Travelled, jumped and finished his race off brilliant. Was a very good performance in what looked a decent race. Did it very, very well with loads in reserve off 12 stone which is no mean feat. The Lobos eye was very, very impressed. He'd have a massive chance in the Turners if aimed there.

Good performance Lobos but I'd say he's a fair fair way to go before troubling any of the market principles, hes beaten Datsalrightgino by 3L giving him 2lbs. Thats miles away from what will be needed in the Turners. Harry, as ever, does an impeccable job of making his horse look like they're winning on the bridle when theres very often not a great deal left in the tank. Not to say it wasn't a nice performance today, it was, Harry doesn't half get them jumping for him.
Which Market principles have been more impressive than him today darlo ?
Humping 12 stone around course and distance today in dead ground was no mean feat.

Which of the turners market principles do you think would struggle to beat datsalrightgino by 3l giving him 2lbs?
ive actually always rated the horse and was disappointed by what he’d done so far this season, today was better but he still has some way to go imo, he was some way behind the best of the Irish over hurdles, and I don’t think they are showing themselves to be any worse over fences. He’s going the right way but still needs to find another chunk of improvement I think.
3 for Nicholls today - he has some live contenders for March. BMG, Stage Star, Hermes Allen, he always has one or two for the handicaps, greaneteen not out of the CC after todays result. I know his record has been sh*te over the last few years but maybe this will be the year he turns the corner.
I think his placing of horses in handicaps has been superb and Cobden is arguably the best jockey riding at the moment. I'll be keen to have his handicappers onside in March but I'm finding good enough reasons to avoid his graded animals in March.
