  • We discussed Gordons form prior to the weekend and how he started later but I'm wondering if Henry is doing the same, he's had the following notable horses beat first time up in recent weeks:

    Honeysuckle
    A Plus Tard
    Bob Olinger
    Journey With Me
    Telmesomethiggirl
    Foxy Girl
    Kudasheva

There are others too, and I appreciate the likes Foxy Girl & Kudasheva are pushing it a bit, as they were on their first starts for the yard, so could have been on a fact finding mission of sorts, and I guess Telmesomethinggirl & Journey With Me were on chase debuts, but I do get a feeling there is real potential a lot of his will come on for their seasonal debuts. If that is the case that would make them currently over priced, too.

I spoke to a mate yesterday who was at Fairyhouse and he said he thought Honeysuckle looked 'big' when he saw her, however, his comparison was to her in the Spring which is the only other time he has seen her, and I imagine the time she is at her peak, so probably chalk and cheese really, but wondered if anyone else was their and remembers how she compared with previous runnings in the Hattons Grace? Obviously I done the very amateur thing and tried comparing her on screen between years, which is not exact or fair in comparison to actually seeing her in the flesh.

Reason I ask is, despite my instinctual cash out I may go back in on her @ 8/1, as if she was 'bigger' than normal she should come on an awful lot for that run, I would imagine.

Because of the above notes about Henry's form I have added a Henry multiple whilst the prices sit kind, and hope his form turns around.

Like I've got doubles showing up where one leg has already lost and the second leg is at Cheltenham but the bets is still unsettled. Just a bit annoying.
I'm no expert Benjy , but i don't think so , . in a similar position , and they only seem to clear , on the day of the last race .
                  Once it's been completed . .

It's a pain but I've called them in the past to ask them to clear. I assume if you sent them a mail listing all the bets including the bet references, then hopefully they would clear for you.

If a festival race, a whole day or the whole meeting was lost then you'd get your money back anyway regardless of 'out for season ' or 'dead' quotes. That's why they'd stay unsettled I presume.

                            • To be fair to Johnny Dineen he is very honest. Not been impressed with his tipping like but he is honest. There were years that Gavin Lynch had a shocker antepost (had his house on Envoi in the Turners) and would then say he’d manage to lay it all off in race … not sure he ever admitted a loss.

I like his honesty, and he's not afraid to back his opinion.
He just lacks that bit of thought and nous that Gavin has.
