It's a bit more detached from the hustle and bustle of the festival, but tbh it's probably the best value ticket by far

This all day long. Gold Cup day is still a nightmare in there though as it is all over the he course.

        • Think everyone should refuse to buy a drink on course on a given day as a protest against the ridiculous price increase. I'd happily drink water on one day and get my fix before and after racing. Power to the Punters !

They've capped attendances at 67,500 for each day so theoretically all four should be the same.

And for what it's worth, it's members who get a rough deal for the festival with just the single bar in the new stand to serve 8,000 people.
Just seems odd that they build a large marquee with capacity for about 2,000 by the North Entrance as a members bar for Paddy Power meeting then turn it into a media centre for the festival and don't create a replacement members bars elsewhere...

            • Plenty of money being spent by the big names tonight at the Arqana sale.

A Frankel bought by Mullins. Has there been many Frankel's tried over hurdles?

Just had a look and not many successful ones.

Relation to Epatante sold for €235k - interesting to see where she ends up.

I mean if you're paying ?275k for your mare to get covered by frankel I don't think you want it to be jumping hurdles at some point

                    • As I'm now over covid and have my lucidity back, wow, the racing at Cheltenham on Sunday was absolute gut rot wasn't it?

Bet ITV were thrilled to be broadcaster them deciding to rearrange hurdles 2 minutes before the start while the jockeys sit arguing with the starter for ages

Bet Schloer were delighted to have sponsored and brought Jonny Bairstow along for a Paul Nicholls benefit race walkover

Bet punters were delighted moments before the off races suddenly became the Monaco grand prix.

The game really is under existential threat in the UK, but it's unreal how much of it is self inflicted

                          • Anyone have, or ever had, a Sport Nation account ?
Just had an email, they are closing at end November, even worse all ante post bets placed that settle after 30th Nov will be voided.
I wasn't aware they were able to do this, anyone work in the industry that can offer any advice on this ?

Not working in the industry BUT, im pretty sure if a bet has been legally struck it has to be honoured so I'm not sure what allows them to void an antepost bet?

Doesn't seem right that they can do that . I suppose if anyone had backed the likes of The Nice Guy, Redemption Day and An Tobar with them then that could work to their advantage.
