Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Is there any chance the clerk will be leant on to try and get the ground closer to good throughout the 4 days in order to be able to give a potential advantage to UK horses?

Officially it will no doubt be Good to Soft but could the reality be different?
Last year was just a cock up wasn’t it ?
Everyone could see the Tue night/Wed forecast but he turned the taps on anyway
That said, the way the ground cup up is said to be a big reason why they decided against extending to five days, so it served a purpose !
Ultimately ground has to be safe and there’s a general feeling the faster the surface the less safe NH racing is, not convinced everyone subscribes to that view but it appeases most but I’m sure their primary consideration will be horse wellbeing, UK performance/chances won’t even register…

Yes, but the benchmark has been set. And I can't see Willie complaining about dry ground across Ireland. It has been a very wet autumn.

While the RPR rule is important and an excellent starting point, it gives us 2-3 to consider, it is not sacrosanct.

With Gavin replaced, anyone know much about the new man?

          • Putting 2 and 2 together, potentially Shoot First could be Gav Lynchs first tip.

Charging for a betting service and putting up an 8/1 favourite for a handicap in November is pretty bloody shit IMO.

Knowing full well there's an army of sheep who will turn it into a 6/1 shot too !

Agree, and I quite like Gavin, generally.

Absolutely mental. Must be sponsored by bookies after that joke.

                      • Was watching RacingTV there and Henry DeBromhead was being interviewed. Must say it was great to see him in such good form. He was saying Michael O’Leary has agreed to name a mares novice race at Cheltenham the ‘Jack DeBromhead mares novices hurdle’. Though I didn’t quite catch if it was the race at The Festival or one before then. Great gesture from the O’Leary’s.

                        • A quick note

From the research I am putting together for a new thread in the Diary section, it seems that last season we HAD started the individual Novice Chase and Novice Hurdle threads in early October!

Especially as Salvador Ziggy is winning the pertemps

….I suspect that’s largely down to nobody bothering to open them, as opposed to any directive. I did open one for the Triumph a few weeks ago, I doubt anybody would object to Novice Hurdles/Chases.

I’ll see if anybody raises objections & happily open threads later if they don’t.

                              • Our timefigure guru is back to reflect on the recent big-race action in Britain and Ireland, as the jumps season goes up a gear.

I always find these an interesting read.

American Mike not impressive on an overall time or sectional time rating.
