He is possibly playing more of a waiting game than previous years
some of his early runners this year have looked like they would come on for the run whereas in previous years they looked fitter first time up
Concern for me at Down Royal was that both
American Mike and Mighty Potter didn't look like naturals in their new disciplines and it looks like Pied Piper will struggle to make the step up

Gordon may indeed be taking a slower approach this season which won’t be a bad thing. He’s also got plenty of other talent so they can’t all run at Down Royal. The ground may also have forced his hand in terms of decs this weekend as I’d say a few he wanted better ground for.

Agree on American Mike but to be honest, I didn’t fancy him in bumpers last year and I’m not sure if he’ll be winning at the festival over hurdles either. Mighty Potter I do like but have concerns about his no show at Cheltenham last year. Pied Piper won’t improve past Vauban so he’s picking up pieces at best once we get to the business end.

      • Missed the action today, saw KOK won, checked odds and see he's drifted!? Haven't watch the race or read anything yet but how strange is that, normally if they win in anyway, bookies cut all round. Bit of a red flag.

He's bought an impressive WITP gelding who won 2 weeks ago. Wouldn't surprise me if Down Memory Lane was bought in quickly to go the bumper route.

An update for anyone who was having trouble with
Bet365 having Magic Daze (Mares Chase)
showing as Cashout but it not working when you’ve pressed to Cashout

I have just heard that it now works properly and you CAN Cashout now
            .

…same with Klassical Dream for those that think he’ll go chasing.

                • Cheers gents, the 25/1 about Klassical Dream was too big even though deep down I didn’t think he would turn the form with flooring Porter. We now have 2/3 new challengers that could make a big mark in the stayers division, have cashed as well.

                  • I think Gordon is beginning to remind me of Martin Pipe, with a very large number of average horses. Can turn up on the minor days and bag doubles and trebles but has only a handful of real top flight performers. However he did get 6 winners across the 2 days.

                      Your welcome.

Maybe there's more than Magic Daze and Klassical Dream that 365 have allowed cashout back on, then?

Worth a check for anyone wanting out on a Bet365 Festival bet.

                      • Is it just Hills and Sky who do to win any race at the Fest?

I requested Gala Marceau TWAR from Paddy Power a while back and they gave me 25/1 on the condition I used the text bet service. Worth baring in mind if you want an alternative to consider.

They had Minella Cocooner for the BANC blanked but now can cash out.

It is mate. All bets which wouldn’t cash out (but aren’t greyed out) are now fixed. To be fair their Twitter support was very good.
