Got my preorder in, but it isn't being published until mid September.

Glad I could help lads, I’d had 5 roll ups disappear so my arse fell out a little bit until I found them

The racing diary on his website will give a few bits of info around who he's talked to for the book - Dan Skelton is new for this year and Rich Ricci is included again. Obviously, no details about horses yet but like isitmarchyet has already said, it won't be sent out until mid September.

Paul Ferguson's Jumpers to Follow is out around the same time as well.

Told my wife a while ago I want mine spreading on Cleeve Hill overlooking the racecourse.

There’s no way she’d find her way down there though so I end up being dumped on some lay by on the M5.

                • My wife has orders if I go first
She has to sneak my ashes in an spread them around, get some of me on the Istabraq bar balcony, some in the Irish Guiness village and a few other spots
Up on Cleeve Hill overlooking the place also sounds a good option if she can't get into the course

                    • Just had the dreaded message from Paddy removing offers/BOG/free bets. It’s surprising because I’m a very low stakes punter, with a comparatively small amount staked in antepost bets. Possibly it’s because I’ve been using them for a few rollups over Ascot and York…

It is what it is, but given I think that PP/Betfair are linked, if I open a Betfair account, will I be limited from the off with them, or am I treated as a separate customer?

Also, any advice on opening an account in my wife’s name would be welcome…

I have been given the marching orders from powers, but with Betfair, you should be treated separately I think, I am restricted to lower stakes with them but can still get on more so than powers and can still claim certain promos etc unlike with PP

I’m baffled by the strategy, the over aggressive regulator has ensured all bookies are losing punters hand over fist, you would think they’d be looking to retain as many accounts as they can.
I have been half expecting a dozen emails to land from the bookies who closed me year ago, there must be a compromise out there where they can limit you to a reasonable stake so both sides are semi happy ?

Maybe all bookies have just resigned themselves to becoming smaller automated businesses ?

I was binned by Paddy Power over 18 months ago.

No problem with Betfair at all since then.

I think for any serious antepost punter - your wife should have accounts opened with all main bookies for her Grand National - Derby bets or if she goes racing with you.
                              Comes in handy.

                              • Thanks for the replies. Good to know I should get a fair hearing with Betfair.

Saxon, I’m assuming I’ll need to deposit from different bank accounts etc with my wife’s new betting accounts?

To be honest I’m baffled. The winning returns I’ve had from PP in the two years I’ve had the account have been small fry, never more than three figures, and I almost never bet more than a tenner. Their exposure to me must be minuscule, so how I’ve attracted attention and they’ve decided I should be restricted is beyond me.
