  • Following on from the 'Out of Cheltenham' thread, I'd like to repeat the cautionary line about mares as ante-post propositions. This, in particular, applies to mares that are leased to racing syndicates with Willie Mullins. Although the syndicate will be consulted, any retirement decision will ultimately be taken by Willie and the breeder who will want his asset back in one piece.

As a general rule, the covering season will run from February until July so, as long as the mare is fit and thought capable of improving her broodmare potential/value, she will probably stay in training for the first half of the NH season anyway but at the first sign of injury, infirmity or regression she will be powdering her nose and on her way to visiting the stallion of choice. Of course, it's generally the aim to run in the spring festivals and then go to the breeding sheds in May but the whole thing is just unwanted jeopardy for ante-post betting this far out.

Reminds me of the time they introduced 'alcopops', Hooch is one that springs to mind; sit in a pub have about eight, get up for a piss and realise the legs want to go in a different direction to the rest of you.
Great days, not least because I could go eight drinks before needing a piss....

Looks worth a visit one day. I like that his containers look like they once held antifreeze

                            Love an alcopop
had a hooch other week after golfing at Woodall spa.
when I was 17/18 and first going out I could cope with cider (mainly woodpecker) but most beers and lagers seemed to taste shite to me.
so I settled on one of the first alcopops
                            babysham
got a lot of homophobe comments but I liked it
                            The drink, not the abuse.
Worlds moved on in many ways.
although I still get called a puff when I fancy a shandy

                              Great point.

SWIW, Concertista and Elimay for example, aren’t on my radar for Cheltenham in March.

I will watch and enjoy their runs, and listen very carefully to what Willie says if/when they win, and he gives a post-race interview.

Ive counted out Epatante from that list so far.

But if Colreevy can be taken out of racing after her run of wins in 2020/21, then any Mare can.
