The flat season has been very underwhelming for me and the amount of gash fixtures is off putting . That said, I went to Chester races for the first time earlier this summer and had a brilliant time. I'll definitely be going back.
Which fixture did you go to at Chester mate? I live in Chester but haven’t been for years. It’s got a pretty terrible reputation locally, though I’m tempted to go to one of the end of season meetings.

          I'm loving the Summer.

I haven't had a break and I've got pretty much full books (I must get my diary started).

Yes I bought a new one a couple of weeks ago, and the view is fabulous!

Not sure if I find the thought of Gash fixtures appealing or not !

                All good.

Loving the Summer. Global Warming my ass.

Just going for quality this year, horses with guaranteed targets and 90% Mullins horses. He wins at least a third of the races every year (take the handicaps out and it's nearly half) so it makes complete sense.

Flat is as crap as ever. All happens too quickly. No value for money.

It was a Friday evening meeting at the end of June. The course wasn't mad busy but that was part of the attraction. The downside is that you can't bet on the Tote and Chester bet is very poor value.

I'm alright Kev, yeah not bad you know how it is.

Felt my love of the game wasn't really bad, but have strangely really enjoyed the flat season - have even watched a few days without spending a penny.

Sadly as the evenings lengthen, the cricket season draws to a close. At the ripe age of 38, and with many of our club moving away from London, I think we only have 2 games left. Quite emotional thinking about it, we've been playing together for 13 years

                      I'm very well too.

Loving the summer, far too hot though for me as a ginger
Enjoying the break, very much into the Moto GP, football and gaming over the last few months
Not watched much flat at all, although horse related, gone back in for another season with Coninbeg and Von Melas ready for the new season ... so hoping to get out and about to a few random tracks this year

Can't believe people went to Chester without inviting me Faugheen_Machine - 30 mins away for me, you dweeb

Also, probably need to start thinking about the DRF for next year!

                          Hi Kev,
I went to Sam's this morning to see them. They looked great, Mick's looking a lot more chilled and bigger. Connie is a typical woman, wants it her own way and needs to be told a bit. (not my words) Probs be better going right handed but I'll settle for a King George. Really good set up there and a cracking cup of tea.

Luckily took this week off from work, lots of playing golf, reading and relaxation.

Glad to see the familiar names, and hope all are healthy and well.

Booked my Dublin festival tickets & air fares, just need accommodation at some point, really looking forward to it.

Not sure how we will turn a profit at Cheltenham AP, bookies need a slap.

Eh... summer is fine, but bring on the cold autumn and winter months, I say. I actually haven't had much of a break this year, been adding things to my book here and there. As for the flat, I've watched more than I have for several years, but it's just not the same is it?

Glad to hear you (and everyone else) are doing well. When's the Fat Jockey season preview podcast coming out? Need Spectre to give us the winner of the Ultima!

Good luck with your method for the coming season Lobos - the term “horses with guaranteed targets and 90% Mullins”…… good luck selecting your Supreme/Ballymore/Ryanair/Gold Cup/County Hurdle/Champion Hurdle horses there.

Old Willie himself won’t be finalising that until declarations on Sunday 12th March!!
