Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Given that Skelton won less than ?5k running around Huntingdon, Bangor and Uttoxeter, I imagine that a Catterick handicap win would be welcome.

Racecourses and Bookmakers have made a complete mess of British Racing's finances and our on-course experience.

The Gambling Commission will probably make that an Unholy Trinity.

I know I'm a doom monger on the subject, but I've never more acutely felt that racing is on a path to obsolesce. But with far less external pressure than I presumed would bring it about. You can only shoot yourself in the foot so many times before you accidentally hit something more vital

                  Agreed robith

Those controlling racing (not the neutered BHA) are self-serving groups, thinking about today, only, with no plans for tomorrow.

I absolutely hate to think it, but.....
I wouldnt be surprised if the sport we love ends up in the same financial state, and becomes.....
                  Greyhound Racing 2.0.

Then the racecourse owners/groups may have to start selling the land off for housing in some places.

I hope I'm wrong and those parties can get their acts together quickly.

A great way of putting it, not heard that before - sadly so true too and agree with your sentiments.

I had it for the first time the other day when putting on an antepost treble, then again for another, but not for a double. Stake/liability was typical for my account.

                        • i generally find referred to a trader is the beginning of the end for an account, if you really value it i would leave it alone for a while until you drop of the radar, maybe have a few nonsense punts on greyhounds or slots

                          • When do the individual race threads usually start to appear? As someone who joined the forum early last season, the forum was already in full flow by the time i joined. TIA

                            • Going though the old threads most were started in Oct about the time of Chepstow's 1st (2 day) NH meeting.

                              • It's been discussed before but I'd be very much against individual threads for any but the open championship races until at least Christmas. Last season, the amount of duplication on the various novice threads was eye-watering and, in the end, I didn't bother reading them.

A individual thread for Champion Hurdle, Stayers Hurdle, Champion Chase, Ryanair, Gold Cup plus a single thread for all novice and juvenile hurdles, another for all novice chases, another for the Bumper and one for all handicaps is absolutely all that is needed until 2023.
