I assume robith means bookmaker incentives which include free bets.
I know a law was passed in Ireland a while back preventing bookmkakers from providing racecourse hospitality to customers, whether this extended to the North or not I have no idea.

I was fortunate enough to have bookmaker hospitality last week but I was told there were just three bookmakers providing this across the entire course and that, eventually, has to impact racecourses up and down the country…

              Technically stake based incentives.

Due to, amongst other reason, power sharing devolution, NI still has the 1985 Betting, Gaming & Lotteries Act in place as opposed to rUK's 2005 Gambling Act. It bars people who take bets from offering "bet and get type offers", but there's a kind of gentleman's agreement that it only really applies to advertising. Hence why all casino ads are "10 completely free spins!" - it's because you can only split TV regionally on ITV and C4 so the ads have to be compliant with the different law in NI

The Department for Communities in NI are looking at similar issues raised in the UK Gambling Review. I don't know how they separate how it'll all play out or if DfC have complete autonomy to do their own thing here. However, I signed up to Boyle sports the Monday before Cheltenham and I got my ?30 in free bets credited no problem. They did a different offer for mainland UK to be fair but free bets were still credited for NI customers. I know 888sport also credited someone I know with freebets and spins when they recently signed up and they're also in Norn Iron

                • Wild horses wouldn't keep me from the Festival. I love the DRF and the Punchestown Festival, and I attend both intermittently, but my priority is still Cheltenham.

Yes it's expensive, and they take money every way they possibly can, but what won the Irish Gold Cup and the Punchestown Gold Cup in 2021? You might scratch your head and remember, but you don't have to think about what won the Gold Cup at Cheltenham the last two seasons, or most seasons in living memory for that matter, even the poorer renewals.

Kemboy and Clan des Obeaux is the answer to each by the way, and it was only a year ago, both fine Grade 1 horses, but not Gold Cup horses, and not so easily remembered.

The racing comes first for me, and the experience afterwards, and not the other way round. I can't imagine talking to my grandchildren saying I was there the day Clan des Obeaux won the Punchestown Gold Cup.

Cheltenham can and should do some things better, and it's up to us to say what we think about the experience by making our complaints. I'll be raising concerns about increased pricing, queues, stewarding, service, prizemoney, 5 days, etc, etc, and I'd encourage as many as people as possible to do so. But whatever the outcome I'll still be there. And as Istabraq says, I'll still be like a child at Christmas whatever they do or don't do.

I get plenty of free bets from Boyles. 2nd to SP fav etc.
Bet ?50 with Boyles, get ?5 free bet in shop and ?5 free bet online aswell.

So im not sure if this is really followed?

But like That Horse has mentioned, I have heard about the Department for Communities (DFC) could look to change things which could fuck things not only free bets or incentives but Accountability checks etc

As I said in the post, there's a gentleman's agreement that only really applies it to advertising and it's unfeasible for the bookies to offer completely separate products purely in NI
