I checked this out once and it appears it's run on beaches in places like Blackpool and Skegness, and is for smaller fatter type horses. The jockeys also appear to be very small, so small in fact they look like small children. The crowd can often be heard saying things like stop picking your nose Wayne, and be careful you don't fall off Waynetta.

As for your bet I'm pretty sure it's fixed, and from what I saw the same two donkeys finished in a dead heat each time. So I can absolutely guarantee you'll get return if you put your free bet on Daisy or Dolly.

    Glad to be of help
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

    • Had a mental few weeks with work Dec and post Xmas and switched off from the racing(first time in about 4 years I'd go without keeping within 48hrs of racing results/study) and keeping top side with the forum. Spent today going through 7 pages of this place and watching back the weekends antics plus a few other races. If there was ever a weekend to get the bug back it was this just now, I'm fully revved up for Trials day(many on here going?) and all the shenanigans that will entail En route to March and don't feel like I've missed a thing with time now on my side

      • I'm off to Trials day once again. Hopefully get some final English clues. Especially the Handicaps.

        • I'll be at trials day too. Would be great to put a few faces to names if you're about before the racing

I could be tempted to do the 5 hour drive if you are bringing your potential new girlfriend?

I'll ask her to bring the family too?

I'd set off now if she agreed to that

                  • Decent article by Timeform on the statistics of front runners and prominent runners at the Cheltenham festival.

I remember last year noting that the jockeys were a lot more restrained going off the front in the handicaps, typically I think they go off like idiots and get picked off. Didn't seem the case last year and will be one to watch the first day or two.

                      • Read a few articles on that bias recently. Every time I wonder if jockeys, trainers and owners will read it and all try to lead

                              • Ground for the DRF at Leopardstown. We have a dry week ahead so I assume the clerk of the course will be watering. We haven't had that much rain either over the last week or so. The meeting is only 12 days now. Gowran this Thursday for Thyestes day looks like being mostly soft all round.
