  • I know they can do as they please, but horses being greyed out on B365 cos they think "they know" what race it's going to is a bit much.

Envoi Allen Ryanair is greyed out but they have him at 10-1 in the NRNB market.
And Ginto for the Bartlett is another.

Have they just forgot to switch it back up ?

They had Mr Fred Rogers priced up twice in the Pertemps market the other day so I doubt they're vigilant enough to identify this sort of info too. They're probably just trying to protect themselves from any significant liabilities they're worried about.

They've had Galvin GN bets greyed out for a couple of months now, all while shortening him to 10/1 fav. Envoi Allen Ryanair greyed out for a while too like you say even though they've cut him since. Making it up as they go along a lot of the time. Vauban bets have been greyed out since he ran too.

Not forgotten, it's as you said in your opening bit, plus there are other horses that are the same. Hollow Games for Ballymore, Vanillier for BANC, must be more I'm sure, those are the ones I have had bets on that are greyed out even though horses could conceivably still go to those races

I still have Sir Gerhard Supreme bets from before the Willie Mullins stable tours came out disabled, it seems like as soon as they remove cash out for a horse in a certain race and its still in the market, they don't give it back. Even though if cash out has been removed on a horse because they've removed it from the market if someone gets it added back you can cash out on that

Not a fan of this. Think it happened with one of mine last year but it’s affected 2 or 3 already this year by now and can tell from convo in here they’ve been a lot more prolific at it.

as you say, technically they’re free to do what they want, but IMO the ability to cashout with them is a selling point and one that a few times I’ve been prepared to take a lower price because off. Knowing that they’re likely to unilaterally remove this ability without notice should a horse be implied as having another target just seems to go against the grain.

if you think you know the target, push it out for the race and offer a reduced cashout as a result. Current way of doing it just seems like they want it all ways, and comes across a bit scummy. Not that they give a shit what I think.

                  Scummy indeed.
I think they may have to open it up at some stage as it must be a proper bag of wool to administer.
They'll end up with everything greyed out.
I'll be using them less going forward for sure.

                    • What annoys me is that there’s no warning that they will restrict cash out when you place the bet - that’s happened to me once this season. They’re happy for you to keep placing bets, and yet not cash it out.

They’ll no doubt back it up with every bookmakers favourite ‘we can do whatever the fuck we want should we decide’ clause

I can see your frustration Mighty but cashout didn't exist a few years ago, neither did BOG or extra places, or double odds for one winner in yankees, or money back if your horses falls or is beaten less than length etc etc etc, if you have have access to all the accounts that offer these benefits/concessions you are in a much much better place than punters were 20+ years ago and I'll guess that at some stage you will have these accounts restricted so currently it's probably about as good as it's ever been, and ever will be, for you...

                            100% agree with this

                            • Hi Ista, absolutely and I didn’t want to sound churlish, forgive me, and I know there’s lots of people like yourself who don’t have cash out.

It’s just that you don’t get to find out about it the lack of cash out until after the bet has been accepted. Betting with Hills or Sky antepost, you understand that the bet is final, but with 365 the implication is you can cashout. I’d just prefer that they were more open about it, so you knew in advance that if you placed the bet it was under those conditions.

                              • I agree with Istabraq that this is a really good concession that doesn't need to be offered (there are plenty of bookmakers who don't offer it) and so its a bit much to complain (bit like BOG). However, it would be good to understand what the rules were around their cash out policy (if there are any other than "we can do what we fancy"). I can totally understand when a horse in injured and also when a horse is highly unlikely to run in a race but where there are valid targets it seems a bit random - e.g. Envoi greyed for Ryanair but Constitution Hill cashable for both Supreme and Ballymore. Does anyone know if you subsequently back again a horse for a race that has been previously greyed out (e.g. Ginto for AB) would the new bet also be uncashable (I think if you bet Envoi for the Ryanair today it would be cashable as its NRNB)?
