Suits the BHA that, risk of a major character walking away because of perceived inequalities would be too damaging for the sport.
Let’s just hope everyone moves on…

Stinks ? Possibly, Convenient ? Definitely.
Trouble is most of the world is so sensitive these days the days of ‘near the mark’ humour result in immediate stoning, hanging or firing squad, a slightly offensive comment or joke and you’re on a par with those who mug old grannies at bus stops.
Permanent silence the only solution, what a life that would be…

ps - and none of that relates to the Dunne/Frost case…

Feels like we are all serving a long prison sentence ATM. They are trying to break us and it's gradually working.

          • I'm sorry guys but I'm really not having this "you can't say anything these days" stuff.

He repeatedly harassed her, including confronting her naked whilst threatening physical violence against her. good riddance imo

EDIT: removed tripe. I know I'm politically out of step with most the forum (lol) but that was needlessly aggy

I completely agree with this. Robbie Dunne completely deserves what's coming next, but there's also a definitely a significant 'victim' culture prevalent in our society at the moment. It's almost as though if you're not a victim, downtrodden, or repressed over something there's something wrong with you.

Where it's genuine I have every sympathy, but at social gatherings these days I regularly hear people competing with each other over who's the 'worst' treated over something completely trivial.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

              • I was partly thinking it was a bit of both - Ill judged banter vs over sensitiveness, and it probably was (mostly).

                However, like others have said.

Dunne did himself no favours in the courtroom, and came across as a stupid arrogant man, who could not tell it like it is.
When you do things or say things you have to take ownership of them and explain why you did or said it.
If you can't then you're probably mentally ill or a C**t.

I deliberately added the comment 'not related to the Dunne/Frost case' at the end of my post.
None of us were present when these incidents took place, the court has heard all the evidence and found him guilty of four charges and as a great believer in the great British justice system I'm happy to accept Dunne has done wrong and Bryony was justified in bringing the case.

But that's not linked to my general comment about political correctness.

I'm sure I'm not alone but having played various team sport for the majority of my life the best times ever were celebrating a win in the bar/pub and ripping the piss out of each other, or as it became known more recently, banter.
It's what we Brits do better than anything else and it's been/being cancelled.
Piss taking was always based on a number of personal traits, could be hair, nose, ears, teeth, beards, height, weight, feet, hands, wife/girlfriend, job, house, car, could be a million things, you name it team mates would dig someone out and take the piss out of them for it, and then they'd get it back, it was funny and helped create unity, no-one ever took it personally, no-one ever got upset, it was fun, I'm of the belief that the modern world says everyone should be sensitive to personal comments, object and take formal action, it's not a world I'm overly keen on but that a personal political view and perhaps has no place on a racing forum, even general chat.
                  So I'll shut up...

                    Totally agree

I'm proudly Conservative (well normally ).....and am def no woke liberal........and no idea whether that is the forum thing or not....who cares anyway

There is simply no excusing his behaviour.....and i am glad he has been found guilty. Given his age, then it is probably for the best that any ban effectively ends his career.I love our sport and am passionate about it......but he has disgraced it......and whether you argue he is taking the blame for a culture or not, his behaviour merits a long ban

Just hope the weighing room now embraces Bryony and all the other different personalities within it......they need to look out for each other.

Have actually met Bryony a couple of times....at Paul Nicholl's yard and Neil King's yard.....and strikes me as very likeable (albeit she is exactly how she comes over in interview)........and delighted she has connected with Patrick, whom have never met, but always strikes me a really decent guy......good luck to them

                        Piss taking is a skill.
It's important that the target of the joke is not the "joke" and especially not if it's something an individual can do nothing about.

The people that makes jokes targeted at an individual are ignorant t**ts.

The over sensitive types simply confuse the subject of the joke with the target of the joke.
The worse over sensitive types are the ones that understand this, and still choose to take offence.

They call these people ignorant, self righteous t**ts.

There is a positive side to how society is reacting these days though !

But like anything in life, it needs to be balanced.

Yes, balanced is a better way of putting it. Top heavy ATM.
