Agreed, he needs to get a new line.

It's annoying but doesn't make me physically sick.

Like when Ruby Walsh and Lydia Hislop attempt banter at the start of every Road to Cheltenham.
That should come with a warning.

Against 10 men again too, repeat of last week would be glorious!

H'es a bit of a one trick pony, isn't he, but he's not here for us, but the very casual viewer. Week after week of banal explanations such as '7/2, you put 2 on to win 7'. I try to just watch the race and avoid the various presenters.

Almost as bad as Ed saying 'wouldnt this be a story if ... wins' every other f**king race.

Are you not concerned with the amount of goals he’s bagging somebody might come in for him in January? Not sure on chesterfields funds mind

Ed Chamberlain is a genuinely nice bloke in person, but I find his presentation style utterly unbearable, to the point where he's ruined watching Cheltenham highlights back.

He's overly effusive about everything. Bryony could win a complete non-event at Ludlow and Ed would describe it as a 'magical moment that stopped the beating heart of racing'. AP could slip on air and Ed would describe his recovery as 'a beautifully balanced pivot reminiscent of the marvellous duo Torvill and Dean'

His language and gushing at every single point of the broadcast is intensly irritating, as is his repetition and ramming phrases like 'safety very much to the fore' down our throats.

He loves a long pause between words too. 'Michael is recovering in hospital and we wish him very....well...in....his....recovery'. Just spit it out ffs Ed!

                • You can tell Ed is ex-Sky football, absolutely loves lashings of hyperbole. He seems sound though and I always have to remind myself how incredibly lucky the sport is to get so much terrestrial coverage, at a time when BBC and co. can't ditch sports fast enough. He's never made me want to switch over, unlike Sir AP who does a very good impression of a miserable sod if he isn't actually one. We aren't ITV's audience at the end of the day, if you're into it as much as we are then you already have Racing TV as a minimum surely. I think ITV do a good job overall.

Although while were here, Oli Bell is the one I find most grating, like a Harry Enfield caricature and a good example of how far you can get in this country off the back of the lottery of birth and who you know. Favourite is probably Adele Mulrennan who is knowledgeable and just gets to the point (anyone else notice during the summer that Francesca clearly isn't a big fan?!). I like Luke Harvey too, gets tons of shit but laughs it all off and just seems a genuine bloke. Jason Weaver isn't afraid to have an opinion so I like him too.

While we're here part 2. Walsh v Nevison was quite amusing yesterday.

                  • Wish us lot had the money to spend on horses that the Moran's have, the amount they've spent on bang average horses is mind boggling. I read 220k for Au Fleuron and after that performance seems a bit ridiculous

I'd say JP has a worse record than the Morans, go to any average raceday and he'll have runners in class 5 handicaps, think he has about 250 horses the vast majority are pigs...

I agree Ray. Martin Pipe, perhaps?

                          • Murphy was raving about him before his bumper - basically saying they'd have been in all sorts of bother if he didn't perform on the track. Certainly one to watch.

He only signed in August, on a 3 year deal. I think the Boreham Wood manager said something along the lines of Chesterfield paid a fee they were expecting from a Championship club for him. It would be fairly unexpected for him to go in Jan imo
