  • 'Only one of Hollow Games or Ginto to go to the Albert Bartlett. Doesn’t know which one yet'

Bit worrying for HG Albert backers as Ginto for all the world does not look a Ballymore type

Or Ginto will probably not go to Cheltenham as he jumps a bit right and will stick to Ireland this season

Yeah, that'll do it. Email them and give them a nudge please

He’s not just a fantastic trainer he’s a fantastic entrepreneur too, an absolute master at bringing new owners with money to spend into the yard, and makes sure he gets the horses placed in the right races too so they get a taste of success & keep spending - just look at down royal this season, 2 winners on the Saturday for relatively new owner in the yard Andrew brown (as well as 3 for probably his biggest current supporter noel Moran).

willie probably the best overall trainer in the game but if I was lucky enough to be able to afford a few good yokes there’s not a doubt in my mind I would put them in training with Gordon.
He'll need to deliver in the bigger races though - the amount of money pouring into that yard is colossal. He's topping every P2P sale going and regularly going home with the 1/2/3 most expensive lots. And yet, Willie and Henry wipe the floor with him when it comes to to open company G1 events.

He's an insanely good long range target trainer and plots them up over hurdles and fences as good, if not better, than anyone (which will be incredibly attractive to owners), but there are still question marks at the top, top table for me that he'll need to overcome with the continued spending. I'm probably being overly critical here, but that level of spending comes with big expectations.

I'd level similar comments at Olly Murphy's over here, albeit that they need to deliver in graded/big handicaps in general, which is not something I can criticise Gord for! Their spending, particularly in the store sales, has not delivered anything like what it should have done and yet the money keeps pouring in!

I watched the podcast, it was very good.

The owners remark on this was in request to a question about 2 specific horses going to the AB.

He said there’s a lot of water to flow under the bridge, they need to show there good enough come the spring, and I don’t think we would enter two,

It was non-commital, as it should have been.

Nothing learned from the reply, just a ‘let’s see’ answer which is entirely the right one.

Ah fair enough. I'll be honest, I've yet to listen or watch it, though I may well give it a go tonight.

                • My Drogo has been boosted to evens with Boylesports. Seemingly no limit on how much you can stake. Surely the play is to back My Drogo with Boyles, match your stake on GOL with another bookie where she's touching 5/2 and hope like hell GOL wins?

It does say on the main screen max stake 10 on the header so just be-careful that they don’t void it and you get stung

Yes I guess I was expecting them to limit it on the bet slip itself, even so, ?10 on Boyles at evens covers a tenner on GOL elsewhere.

                        • Imagine if another trainer had the bottle to run their horse in the race, they'd likely have been sitting on a nice prize by now.

Hoping all horses are OK, they seemed to both be which is the main thing.
