Racecourses have always been diabolical for bar staff and it's not just Cheltenham, Sandown has always been appalling, Doncaster was poor the few times I've been there, in fact the only place I can remember never having issues is Plumpton, no idea why.
Last week was no worse than normal, so it that sense they're consistent....

Yeah, give them a break. They need to get money back. Paying an extra ?1.50 over the odds for each pint means you'll be 'donating' the course ?15 if you have the average 10 pints during racing. Each and every one of us would blow that and more on Plenty of donkeys that'll fall or be pulled up at the Fez. We really need to stop belly aching.

It wasn't me that set it up, I've only been made admin on it today, the chap that set it up isn't that active on here so won't have seen the requests, but I'm away for a couple of days with my wife on holidaaaaaaaay so if people message me their mobile numbers I'll add them at the weekend.

The usual array of clueless students that have been dragged out of lectures and thrown in a uniform; none of them have any idea what a lager top is, guinness and black met with total bemusement and after explanation she asked if my mate wanted a separate cup for the blackcurrant.
Same round half a dozen times, six different totals.
The course was way busier than expected so bars were very busy, See You Then bar was OK until about 12.30pm then it was eight deep and a long wait, members bar no better in the new stand, it may be they were caught out by the size of the crowd and/or had insufficient staff.
The easiest bar to get a beer was the ground floor level of the new stand, go in and move down the bar and it was fine, but it'd a bar devoid of daylight and poor lighting so not the best place to be.
None of the above ruins your day, and I'm not sure any venue in history has ever got it right, you have to half expect it to be a ballache...

the bit that made me laugh was “same round half a dozen times, six different totals” Thats so true they aint got a clue…pre poured lager is absolute butters so could only imagine what a pre poured guiness would be like. The only thing that bothers me is men at bars just dont act like gents, if someones before me ill say yep this man first, but never get that courtesy returned!

Could we start a cross country thread? It’s only 2 weeks until the first Cheltenham race. Although I doubt we’ll see tiger or easysland, there’ll be a few interesting entries and sighted for next March. I expect that we’ll see balko after his pootle round in a handicap hurdle the other week. Modus is also an interesting one that might pitch up. Will we get a couple of frenchies coming over??
