This isn’t a bragging post but more to say if you are thinking of a trip abroad this summer just do it! The hassle of a couple of forms and tests is more than offset by how quiet the airports/flights/resorts are. Ignore all the media and government scaremongering, the reality is it feels far safer travelling and being here than it would on any UK staycation.
Good man! I work in the aviation industry, office is at Manchester Airport and I can attest to the fact the airport is dead.

Lovely stuff paying for a hol banked from festival - let’s all hope for the ability to do that in late March 2022…(and if everyone could fly from Manchester, Stansted or East Midlands preferably to boost our P&L that would be terrific too )

    • Stumbled across this character called Jonathan Rendall the other day, he's no longer with us sadly but I found this 3 part Ch4 series very good. I wasn't gambling in the 90s or 00's but it is just how I imagine it would be for many of that era. Great to see tiny private betting shops, phone booths for commentaries amongst plenty of flashbacks to seasoned punters I imagine.

I know the feeling.. I’m sure you’ll have a great time, things might be a little smoother in a months time but with this government who knows!

I've just returned from 10 nights in Rhodes and agree with all of that.

We all did lateral flow tests every day the week leading up to the holiday to make sure we were clear to travel. Paperwork is a bit of a pain but only takes a few minutes

The airport experience is so much better when there are less people traveling. There were only 7 on our return flight - it was like being in a private jet and very covid secure!

          • I’m on my way back from Ireland, first time I’ve visited family in 18 months. I was expecting hassle and to be confronted or stopped enroute at some point especially after being denied travel insurance and I’ve visited hassle free so far. I didn’t risk going further a field but I’d really benefit from a week in Spain right now, a few beers next to the pool staring at the female fruit on show. Enjoy chaps, make the most of it while you can, I’ve heard rumours we might be back in lock down during the Autumn

No chance I'll be locked down again. I'll definitely join the protest marches if that happened. Don't think the Govt have any money left now as well.

                  They've never had any.

It always been debt not a cash pile like a King in a castle.

                  • It’s probably nonsense and gossip but someone I know who works for the BHA told me that’s what he’s heard from the medical experts advising them. I’m with you, it’s gone on too long now, the vast majority of people are double vaccinated, it’s time to get on with things and see what happens

                    • I wouldn't be too worried about a BHA medical expert thinks TKP - probably some nutter looking for zero covid

                      • Hi guys, I’ve been really quiet on here of late, I’ve been taking some time off the forum and enjoying spending my winnings and spending some much needed time with friends and family now that the restrictions have been easing in the UK.

We all share a common passion on here for racing and I’ve decided I wanted to start writing about the sport I love so much, so I have started a blog. I’m going to try and keep it regularly updated and discuss big talking points and generally have a view towards Cheltenham 2022.

My first post is on NH horses to follow throughout 21/22, have a read and let me know your thoughts. Hopefully it will get you excited for the upcoming season.

(As a lifelong Aston Villa fan it has also kept my mind away from the Jack Grealish saga lol )

An excellent read, like a lot of those myself I think you’ll have a few Cheltenham winners in there.

A government that issues its own currency never runs out of money. It only runs out of will

                              • It's really good to see FJ getting busier over the last few days. And nice to see some familiar names back posting and getting things moving.

I genuinely look forward to my daily dose of racing chat with everyone. Hopefully we'll see a few new members joining us soon too.
