Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Codd was quoted as looking forward to Aintree and staying amatuer after finding out about the chelt ban, so i would strongly guess he is coming over, on what though im still looking... Dereck o conner will surely be onboard staker wallace though imo...

He's got a 33/1 quote for the Champion hurdle but this strikes me of the sort of quote that suggests he is going elsewhere, and his Triumph run didn't scream speed at me so I'd expect him to be more effective over further, a switch to fences would open up more opportunities...

Interestingly he isn’t priced up for any other race at the moment I believe.

Fairyhouse is Yielding to Soft at the moment.

          • Just seen cloth cap has been given a handicap rating of 162 after winning that Kelso race

Well he will need to win the national because he will never win a handicap again in his life

No wonder UK based trainers can't win any Cheltenham handicaps with horses getting put up that much

he beat Aso an 11yo that doesn't stay and hasn't won a race since Tony Blair was prime minister

They also own 32Red and Stan James. If you have already been restricted by one of those accounts it could be the problem.

                  • Affordability checks now confirmed with Ladbrokes and Coral. I don't have an account with either but I will not be sharing my bank details with any bookie. They can get fucked. Cash back down the bookies when they open it is then.

I’m just having the same battle with Virgin Bet who are being very specific and difficult.
I’ve offered all sorts of info that confirms source of funds but they have been insistent on seeing bank statements, no doubt ulterior motives so that’s another short and sweet relationship.
Shops really will be key moving forward, I had never fully appreciated their value until they were forced to close...

The problem with them looking at bank statements apart from the obvious is they also get to see your withdrawals from other betting firms on there! They will then use this to their advantage too if you’re a profitable punter elsewhere they are less likely to want your business themselves!

It's becoming impossible, if you win you get closed if you lose you get financial intrusion and, as you say, there’s no question they flag you as a winner from other firms.
Sadly the approach of both bookmakers and the gambling commission is sending punters to unregulated bookies, bookies who do not contribute to the levy and therefore the running of the racing industry, big problems ahead for the game I fear...

All these online restrictions / closures / checks will simply drive people off their apps and into shops.

Someone who is restricted to 100 quid per month on Hills can simply go into their bank, withdraw 500 quid and visit as many bookmakers as they like to get their bets on.

Nowt the gov can do. Even if bookies restrict stakes, most urban areas are full of bookies. I could walk to 6 in less than an hour right now if they were open.

I'm all for gambling controls and helping people when help is needed, but the whole concept of affordability checks disgusts me. It's a disgrace in a free society. What next? Checking CCTV in bars to make sure lads ordering massive rounds can afford it? Not letting people buy loads of clothes on a credit card? Limiting the amount of alcohol someone can buy in a supermarket? Its an absolute farce attempting to restrict peoples lives in that way.

People have become inherently lazy though, life is geared around sitting on your arse having everything at your fingertips.
I’d love to think there’ll be a boom in shop turnover as this will increase the amount racing receives so will be good news for the sport, but I just think the modern way of pressing buttons is now engrained in the majority.
When bookies started culling online punters 10 years ago or so I genuinely thought it would drive people to the course and create better competition in the ring, a bit like it was 20 years ago before exchanges took over, but I was wrong.
Sadly there will be an ever increasing percentage of punters going underground, black market, and there is no reverse button with this...

                              • I can imagine they’ll introduce something similar into shops in the future like a compulsory betting card that is linked to your online account, where they keep a full profile on you that you have to produce in order to place a bet. I think Ladbrokes and corals already have these, just not compulsory yet.
