He pretty much confirmed it himself in his first Twitter statement about the move. I can’t find it now. Maybe removed? Anyway, words to the effect of ‘I’ll be here to advise where required’.

it was 'Gorden will be there to advise where required' -> loads of people then jumped on it

Ah. Thanks. That’ll be why it was removed/updated.

A good point but those rare high price outsiders take some finding even with multiple entries

Well so long as I remember I'll put in an entry nearer the time for all the favourites though usually when I'm making selections I try to find something to beat the favourite!
Appreciation to ryanh97 for setting up the competition - it seems popular.

                • I don’t think a lot of people realised the difference between a suspension & being warned off to be honest. Eliotts PR team probably leave some to be desired but I really wish the journalists etc would just put this one to bed now. They have the audacity to talk about Elliott damaging the sport with his actions when they’re the ones that now refuse to let it go & move on so people can forget about it

                  • Well i was under the impression that the 6 month ban meant from training. So maybe the Jounalist at the DT thought the same?

It doesn’t help with the biggest month of the season upcoming, every Elliott winner will kick up another wave of assault by the media.
To be fair though it will disappear, when you think that footballers have been on rape, racist, ear biting (both !) match fixing etc charges but their careers bounced back quickly.
It’s racings reputation that worries me...

Banned from training and self exclusion from racecourses and PTP venues but nothing to stop him taking a phone call and providing practical advice about horses that were in his care...

Would not the reputation be better if a ban actually meant a ban?

To my mind he is banned, but like I said providing advice shouldn’t be an issue, the new trainer has her name on the licence so carries ultimate responsibility and liability for everything within the training operation

                            • I presume everything will be exactly the same apart from the name on the racecard won't be Gordon Elliott, not really a ban that.

                              • He fucking lives there
they can’t stop him walking about and talking to people on his own land unless they put him in prison.
I was going to say that he doesn’t physically train his horses by getting on the back of them. But he obviously does sometimes
