  • Glad it’s been sorted and we can move on to the greatest show on turf.

Just hope for selfish betting reasons they all come over as planned.

I presume BHA will follow the decision made, no need to do any different, is there?

Turns out it's not a 15k fine as such. that's the court costs figure.

          • Seems fair enough. Misses all the big spring festivals and the prize money on offer so a large fine wouldn't have been appropriate.

What does the ban entail? Does he now have to leave the yard for the 6 months?

            • Hes basically been banned until the start of the next jumps season

              Which seems a fair punishment

              • Reported on racing tv that the BHA will be releasing a statement this evening.

                • I think they need to find a way to quickly give someone at the yard a liscence

It would not look good to have elliots name as trainer after any winners at Cheltenham

He’s not appealed so ban kicks in 9th March - not a chance the BHA will do anything less so zero chance of GE name being next to any runner this year...

                    • Do we think the morans will jump ship then? ....... got to admit that I’m thinking of Zanhayir from a purely selfish point of view!

                      • Already being reported finishing touches being put on an arrangement for someone else to run yard. All their major work will be pretty much done anyway it’s essentially a formality & they’ll be running for Gordon in all but name

Correct. For a working example, please reference the 'Charles Byrnes' winner in the 6.00 race this evening in Dundalk.

Yeah it gave me a laugh that one I must admit!

BHA statement just now - horses fine to run at festival as long as transferred to a different licensed trainer by 9th March.

                              • In other news, Patrick Mullins has decided to remain an amateur so won't be riding at the festival
