The general mood seems to have shifted significantly today toward being a lot more forgiving of Gordon. Plenty of jockeys, trainers, owners, racing managers etc in Ireland all given messages of support for him on Twitter today. The rowing back from the BHA a big step in the right direction toward diffusing the situation too.
Do you think (or anyone) that he's come to some sort of agreement behind the scenes about stepping down or away for a bit and it's all calmed down a little?
Taking his medicine and we can all carry on kind of thing?

There were rumours last night I posted here that Davy was going to take over running the yard for a bit under the license of another local trainer, but I haven’t seen anything further today. It wouldn’t surprise me if what you suggest was the case, to be honest, it would save a lot of headaches all round.
Don’t think the people stepping forward to offer words of support for him would know that necessarily; some of the stuff being directed his way has been pretty vile and it must have been a very lonely 48 hours, I think a lot of people just want to see him get a fair deal with this upcoming hearing.
Part of me thinks he could get away with a huge fine & some time away from the public side of the sport I.e. banned from attending courses & the like, but that might be a bit lenient. You’d hope the IHRB & BHA have had some sort of constructive conversation given the statement today certainly.

Possibly has, because its pretty clear he has to either offer to step down, or be told on Friday to step down, for a period of time. How long is anyone's guess, but i think its best for him, and the sport in general.
Hopefully he will have a good support network.

Would be best for everyone. Actually feeling quite sorry for the guy now. People who murder have had an easier time than he has this week. Stupid thing to do but we've all done at least one idiotic thing we regret haven't we? He's probably been punished enough now.
Some of the abuse Gordon is getting online is absolutely vile. Trial by Twitter has to be one of the most appalling things going.
Could just be having my feed in order but I've seen more people complaining about abuse than actual abuse all told
The main issue is that the social media companies don't enforce their own T&Cs. Ever tried reporting a tweet, it's almost impossible. I once get RTed by a famous sports person on something very mild about Irish rugby. I was getting Glasgow Rangers fans in my DMs telling me the famine was over, they were gonna stab me etc for 2 weeks. Twitter did nothing.
So we're here again, within touching distance of the Cheltenham Festival. The excitement has been added with the handicap entries, and weights released. Below I'll have a definitive list of every...
Youd think after Caroline flack killed herself after the abuse she received online they'd clamp down on it.
Social media accounts should be properly verified so people can be held accountable for what they say.
Only way i can think of to enforce something like this (while keeping online mediums) would be a digital Id/Passport which would open up another can of worms that society (imo) is far from ready for :/
May be connected (Quite possibly) but is this the reason that nearly all bookies have suspended cash out at the moment? The upping the ante duo were saying nothing would happen this side of Thursday/Friday but why then and if not then any idea when cash out becomes a thing again? Need to see what the damage really is.....
