Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

To suggest they couldn’t give a shit about horse welfare is way off the mark

They are family orientated and care greatly about the horses they own

also, your quote about people from rural Ireland is also way off the mark and disrespectful

Once proven fake I think the person prosecuted would be a win for being held to account for what you post online.

Even if it’s real, which I don’t think it is, there’s a difference between a disgusting, bad taste joke and a horse welfare issue

You are saying that Gigginstown would not give a shit either way ToniC

            I think that is unfair

I'm not convinced they've ever been hugely concerned about their image, I think they live by the rule that any publicity is good publicity...

              • Rumours of an imminent apology/statement from Elliot seem to be gathering pace online

                • I saw that on twitter...its either a “leaked” apology or complete fake

                  • There is a group on Twitter called animal welfare watch tweeting a WhatsApp message with Elliott admitting to the photo from 4 years ago. There is the likes of Noel Hayes and Brendan duke discussing it too now as real. Doubt they’d risk it if not true.

This won’t be a good look for racing and especially not Gordon Elliott. I’m not sure what punishment he can actually get but I don’t doubt at all he will lose some horses.

                    • Do we think there could be any Cheltenham implications for him and his horses if it’s true?

BHA made a statement looking IHRB to act quickly so if he got some type of ban then without doubt.

                        • What’s worse, sitting on a dead horse or punching a live one? People kicking up the fuss are those outside of racing and Twitter police. I’m not condoning it at all, but he didn’t kill the horse. Jockey’s who have punched a horse for the whole world to see have still been able to continue their careers. Hopefully a suitable punishment is given, but not one that ruins a man’s livelihood.

Mick Quinn is still training and what he done is worse than Gordon has supposedly done.

                            • Animal Welfare Watch has 47 followers on twitter. I'm not for a second suggesting twitter follower numbers have any bearing on validity, but I need a bit more than a forwarded screenshot of a whatsapp message to go off before we hang someone out to dry.
Hayes refers to a statement being out, but other than the AWW tweets I haven't seen anything anywhere https://twitter.com/BigCityBanker/st...88941728890886

That said, the tweet from GE last night was hardly encouraging was it?!

Edit: I just checked one particularly outspoken twitterer's posts and he's deleted one he tweeted yesterday that was rubbishing people who thought the photo was real. Doesn't look great at this point.

I think it will if it’s proved true yes. I would imagine he’ll get a ban. But surely in that case horses run under someone else’s care? Imagine if Envoi Allen couldn’t run coz of social media?

If this is true whoever has leaked it must have a heck of a grudge to do so now, disgruntled ex staff or owner?
