  • There is talk of them moving the grand national back until after April 12th (when betting shops open).

This is potentially quite significant isnt it?

It could mean horses that were going to be saved for Aintree could also take in Cheltenham as there will be a longer gap.

    Something to bear in mind.

Song for someone, for example, could feasibly take both in if Aintree was delayed.

    Food for thought...

      Really, I haven’t heard that.
I’m not sure how they can do that logistically, the programme is set and pushing Aintree back, and I’m sure that would mean the entire festival, would have massive implications on Punchestown and Sandown as well as creating TV clashes with classics flat trials ???

Umm it will pose logistical problems certainly.

Reading that suggests it may be just the Grand National, and not rest of Aintree? Would they do that??

            • Just seen a special on PP Concertista Mares, Elimay Mares Chase 6/1 double. Doesn’t look like it’s max ?20 either.

              • Is that not the ex chief saying if he was in charge it was something he would consider ?
Flipping with the Scottish National is a bit disrespectful too, this race is also one of the biggest betting races (outside of Cheltenham) every year...

I made the case for that at 7.75/1 and Quevega said it wasn't good value

                      • Probably not relevant for Cheltenham but hopefully PN now realises Pic D'orhy is an out and out 2miler

                        • Apologies if already posted, but which are the latest/soon to be launched books out for the festival? Which would you recommend?

                          • Have we had any proper online preview shows yet? Obviously there's somewhat different circumstances this year but i'm sure they're usually in full flow by now? I take them all with a pinch of salt but they can be fun and all part of the build up.

                              must have missed it!

I think knowing more now it looks even more solid imo.

Not a criticism so please don't take it that way but given this Forum's status and connections etc, for future years is it feasible for the entries to be made available today eg obtained and published by a member, rather than getting snippets which although very helpful is not the same as seeing a definitive list.
