Newbury almost certainly going to be off on Saturday, already provisionally rescheduled for Sunday 21st and you just have to think the British trainers have really been done over by abandonments & the inability/inflexibility to reschedule meetings. The last 2 Cheltenham meetings both been abandoned and only partially rescheduled, losing quite a few key preps for festival races particularly the handicaps, and even when rescheduled they graded races were run at different tracks robbing horses of the key course experience their trainers had planned for them. Now Newbury is almost certainly off, being moved to the Sunday after that means any horses planning to run there will have less than 4 weeks between that & their planned festival engagements.
No real point to this, just my observations, but add to this fact that the British challenge probably looks the weakest overall it has done for some years, Ireland could really mop up this time.
