for any Father Ted fans out there?
I loved the Father Stone character in Father Ted, he is my go to reference to every boring monotone people I have the unfortunate experience of losing valuable time too!!

Poor Mick, I find him inoffensive and easy going. He would be better suited to golf commentary, now Peter Allis is no longer with us maybe Mick should change codes and be the voice of Sunday afternoon hangovers describing the wispy clouds over the Scottish coastlines in between approach shots

I’ve read it’s the 15th - 18th on here by many people, but this has most definitely NOT been confirmed by any BHA authority yet, nor the Jockey Club.

skybet have every future race for Cheltenham as the 8th - 11th March, which may have the potential to invalidate any ante post bets, if it is indeed the 15th - 18th March.
Someone on here said they'd rang the course directly and been told 15-18th. It's being advertised as such on sites like racing breaks which always seem quite well connected https://www.racingbreaks.com/events/...enham-festival

      • 15th -18th will be correct. It's never any earlier than the 10th.

        • I’ve read somewhere that the first day is the first Tuesday in the double digit date of the month?
I’ve only checked the last 10 years which is correct.

              Think it's a myth.
Although he may not do as much as some.

I've read that on here before.....not in the last 12 months, but I'd put my life on reading it on here.

That doesn't make it true... but I've read it

                • They also do racecourse schooling, that's where cilaos Emery got injured before the arkle. I also remember seeing bellshill fall at the 1st in his last school before the RSA

                    Is that rumour nonsense then?

I don’t know if it happens or not but it would make complete sense if it was an option. if you had the opportunity to school at a race course then surely that is always better than a yard gallops....in my best Morrisey impression.... ‘some gallops are bigger than others’
It would make complete sense that the big yards are allowed access to train and school their horses at race courses midweek like football teams can train on other clubs pitches if they request too, Henderson at Newbury for example, I’m sure it happens??. Its not illegal or wrong unless they are schooling horses during race conditions??

It's probably a bit of an urban myth because they very rarely school them in public. With the established chasers, unless there's a particular issue, I doubt that they do that much but I don't know for sure. Presumably, novices get more schooling but the best horses will likely have individually tailored preps.

                        • Vaped too much before bed and had a dream all our day 1 bets lost to 100/1 shots. Never been so happy to wake up

Given that in said dream Cheltenham looked like Rainbow Road from Mario Kart, it's safe to say I don't think they were real horses
