  • William Hill website shut down for 24 hours yesterday - promises of an ‘update’.

And yet, still, all ante post bets processed ‘pre November 1st’ are still not showing any potential winnings, nor any bet boosts used on each bet.

    Completely unacceptable.

I know it’s been touched on, but does anyone else still have this same problem, even after their ‘software update’?

The problem lies even more with the fact that currently, there is no way to contact them directly on the phone to discuss their ineptitude!

    • I had the same problem for a long time but it’s now fixed for me (I only access their site through the app on my phone).

Perhaps they’re not upgrading everyone at the same time?

EA - see post #1058 in this thread for how to view all of these open bets / boosts etc in the web version of the website rather than using the mobile app.

If you are desparate to contact them you can still do it via on-line chat session but it will take a while to get through to them.

I have been e mailing their Technical team Supervisor regularly with latest as below:

Thanks for the update but you haven't told me anything new. According to your Customer Support team, the Technical Team were already well aware of this problem back in December and were investigating it then as a matter of high priority.

I realise I am repeating myself here but you have not given me any confidence or information which suggests that this problem will be resolved any time soon. Its also pretty poor customer service just to tell me to keep checking for myself to see if its fixed, surely someone in your team should be aware whats going on so that your team can update siimilarly affected customers.

I received a helpful response from the Gambling Commision this morning, who provided the contact details and process for approaching the Information Commissioner. I intend raising this matter with them now because I don't believe you are taking my concerns seriously and I will be asking them to consider whether there is a breach of Data Protection legislation due to your continued provision of innaccurate data against my named account. Also whether they would expect the fault to be rectified within a specific period of time.

As requested previously, please advise when the Technical Team are due to complete their investigations, the level of priority this problem is within William Hill Suuport Team, plus any details regarding the fix and its anticipated time to resolve.

If I do not receive satisafactory responses to the above points by the 31st January 2021, I shall be raising a formal complaint through the relevant channels.

        • Same I've had the issue for a while and just checked on my phone if it has been sorted for me which it hasn't. I have previously seen this on twitter when someone queried with William Hill about it, stating that it is just a visual issue (hopefully it just is that)

Yep, its definitely a display issue within their mobile App, albeit an annoying one. All of the correct data is still present within the account otherwise it wouldn't be viewable via the website version which it is. This is also probably why WH are not pulling out all the stops to fix it.

anything September and earlier, for me, on desktop version, still has the same issue.

I'm not overly concerned, i do believe everything would be stored correctly in their databases and is truly a display issue.

              • I had this issue with Hills last year and was paid out at the odds I took.

KSS - That is a bit weird why some users are seeing different results from the website version. That being the case if I were you I would be writing a very strong e mail to the Customer Services team emphasing that you have no way of reconciling your outstanding Cheltenham bets and that this is a significant problem for you. If nothing more demand that they supply you with a full list including bet boosts, returns, stakes etc.

                  e mail = support@willhill.com

How do you access their ‘website version’?

I’ve installed/ deinstalled what is on my iPad & iPhone 3 to 4 times over the last week - same problem.

Every time I type in ‘William Hill’ into google, and access their website like I was a new customer, the identical problem.

What is the ‘website’ version? That’s indeed what i believe I have - the app I have not downloaded yet.

Great stuff NW, I hadn’t considered the Gambling Commission but will now.
Mine is slightly more complex in that when I raised this issue with Hills they advised me my account had gone from ‘restricted’ to ‘closed’ and having re-installed the app I am now unable to access the account, I have made Hills aware of this but no doubt Delhi/Mumbai will take a while to understand my issue and respond.
I’ll give them a day or two and contact the GC.
Keep us posted on your battles...

                          The website link is

Online Betting from William Hill - The Home of Betting

As others have indicated this may still not work but all of my Ante Post Open bets pre October are fine using this method rather than the mobile App.

Thankyou kindly for the link Mr Norton’s.

I have accessed it, and yes, have scrolled down to see they are all there and present.

However, I still can’t see (looking to the right hand side) the full potential winnings, neither the ‘amount as a monetary figure’ of bet boost used. You can’t scroll right to allow you you to see it?

                              Hi Ista

Can't see how they can get away with closing an account with Open bets on it, without fully refunding them etc.

The Gambling Commission has an on-line form to submit enquiries but alternatively you could try e mailing them at:

                              INFO@GAMBLINGCOMMISSION.GOV.UK

                              Best of luck.
