50/1 my odds of him to show.

7/1 SkyBet’s odds of him to win it.

Agreed Mr Quevega. Most people won’t give 2 hoots. But isn’t ante post betting, or indeed any betting, about finding holes in a bookmakers price and exploiting that specific mistake?

And yet currently the bookmakers will offer you, or any punter a single figure price on this event, and there will be someone, somewhere who’s taken it up.

I just look ahead and try to work it all out well in advance.

If someone can explain how Envoi Allen is likely to end up favourite for the King George on Boxing Day, and the reasons why that might happen, and not take part in the Savill’s Chase at Leopardstown 2 days later, I’d be extremely intrigued.

        • Sorry to interrupt this morning's proclivities.

Is any one else really struggling to keep up with the season and Cheltenham ahead.

My work is crazy busy, and it's really hard to differentiate the days. Even with the cancellations, the fixtures and meetings feel to be coming so thick and fast. I'm struggling to keep my opinions straight.

Have booked the days of the fest off though thankfully. I carried 5 days from last year but they need to be used by the end of March. Crate of Guinness, deliveroo every day. Maybe some Bolly on Friday if Bob Ollinger does the business!

Hills prices not available today. Website maintenance or something.

I'm working from home at the moment, furloughed 4 days a week, so the complete opposite for me.... probably got more time than ever.

If this lasted until March I'd be thrilled to ribbons to be fair.

I might even have time to actually try and put up some tips and interesting comments like I used to

Not available at the moment but was available at 8/1 last night so should reappear.

Haydock is a specialists track so I'm sure they'll be targeting the race next season. 8/1 is still too big imo.

                  • Cheltenham looked wonderful today. Walked round the course (which was a fucking death trap btw), but absolutely beautiful. Made my peace not being there in March months ago but its tough seeing it and knowing you wont be there.

Don't tell my wife this, but a couple of Christmases ago I was offered a new job. Huge promotion, almost 40% pay rise. Now it wasn't the main reason I turned it down (it finally got my current employers to wake up to how shoddily they'd treated my progression and get a promo and pay rise here, I had some nervousness about some of the working culture I'd heard of there, I would basically also be sacrificing my annual bonus one week before getting it), but in my mind there was "I'm not moving job in mid March"

Iv'e not had any time off since Covid kicked off and originally i didn't mind as obvs get 100% pay at work as opposed to 80% at home and keeps me busy as all i hear is mates being bored etc. Just before Xmas my boss tells me we are selling up and are all out of a job by the end of March(small redundancy package) but far from ideal in this climate! Anyway the point i'm making is yes it's been tough and i'd even say keeping up with this forum as it has rapidly expanded this season has been a nightmare . Obvs it's great to see the place busy and great posts but feck me it don't half take up some time trying to read the odd post in the day and catch the rest in an evening.
