I have written formally to William Hill advising them that this is a serious Accounting breach, which they need to rectify urgently.

Mis -anagement of accounts is a huge issue for any company in terms of regulatory bodies and fundamentally the Industry Ombudsman and FSA given William Hill's status as a UK company, would take a very dim view. The onus here is on William Hill to investigate the incident, identify the cause, restore original data or recreate it manually. Its also a related failiure against the Data Protection Act because they are not maintaining our data (bets) correctly within our named accounts, which they created specifically for that purpose.

Let's see what they have to say but this will be a real hot potato for them I would imagine, because the adverse publicity could be extensive if punters lose confidence in WHs capability to manage accounts correctly, After all its a basic requirement which they are expected to get right.

At the weekend a ?83 accumulator on American football suddenly appeared in my account as well. This also happened a couple of months ago. It was gone in the morning so don’t know if it won! Seems WH May have deeper problems than just the one highlighted here.

Tell them you are going to start publicising this on Twitter if you don't receive that information in 48 hours, along with confirmation of precisely what they are doing to fix the application software fault and restore the correct data. You have evry riight to expect the data held within the system against your account name to be correct and available for you to see.

It's simply not good enough if they think they will be able o get away with providing spreadsheets on demand. The onus is on them to sort it, so make sure they know that you expect them to be fixing not fudging.

Hills do not give a flying feck about uk punters these days, close down accounts on a whim & errors galore. Firmly expect them to focus on there Yank operation going forward and see numerous shops close over the next couple of years.

Down at the bottom of the screen, hopefully an option.

I've had problems with Hills online in the past. This is my tale.....

When online accounts were relatively new, I set up a WH account. It was before smart phones and I was stuck at work when Aintree was on so phoned my brother and asked him to place a bet on Iris's Gift using my William Hills account. He said he knew my username but couldn't remember my password. Gave him my password (it wasn't a word that anyone else could possibly have) and he confirmed that he'd placed my bet.

I got home from work, watched Iris's Gift win and logged into my Hills account to see a balance of 0.00.

Phoned my brother to ask him how the hell he hadn't placed the bet as it wasn't showing in my settled bets and there were no transactions on my account. He was adamant that he'd placed the bet though.

This is when it gets really odd......

He came round and logged into the account to show me the winnings were there. Watching over his shoulder I noticed he'd put in the wrong username but used my password. My Iris's Gift winning were there but he's accessed someone else's account that shared my name. It was some fella from Darlington!

My brother has deposited ?50 from this guy's card (before you needed the 3 digit number on back of card) and backed a winner for him.

I spent two days trying to get my winnings off Hills as nobody believed my story. I even wrote to the morning line about it

I'd like to think internet security has improved since then.
