I'm happy to be up around 85pts. Will need to collect some larger winnings from the high street bookies for the first time. What's their protocol for pay outs above a couple of grand? I don't really want to provide them any of my personal details if possible.
I love Tenerife, you can even get pints of Dorada for a euro but that's becoming hard to find. 1.5 is still a mad price.

    • 2025 prices reduced, it's hardly going to reduce overheads, but reducing car parking from £30 to £20 helps.
It's the hotels and rail that are outside of the Jocky clubs control that cause the most financial pain.

Our coach was £75 … can’t see anything anywhere regarding the 2025 cost

        • Seems a fair bit of backlash on the back of this festival, every podcast and YouTube video I’ve watched is all saying the same, really negative stuff. (I found the Tuesday a lot flatter than usual) Do Cheltenham themselves hold a review after the festival? Or just carry on like everything is great and make as much as they can while they can.

Totally agree about the Tuesday, noticed the centaur seemed a lot quieter than in the past too.

              FFS.

Only in Ireland. Should be a laugh watching her being tackled on the relevant issues of the day.

Ian Renton told Luck on Sunday that they hold a wash-up meeting today and discuss the meetings pit-falls.

Mr Burns from the jockey club residing in his manor summed up the leadership thinking I thought, one the idea of removing a race from the festival seams beyond thinking as they said it’d have to be replaced with an alternative race.

As the people asked for a 4 day 7 card festival’

no you plonker they didn’t ask for that - they just didn’t want a 5 day festival.. that doesn’t meant the status quo is what they really want either.

                  • Heya FJ's If anyone is thinking of Cheltenham in the sun for next year i would recommend Playa Blanca Lanzarote. The Irish Anvil bar is great for the racing and a pint of Magners, and large San Mig was only 7euro. Worst days weather was 21c and last 2 days it hit 29c. Trying to talk Mrs Somer into next year.Rollon the fest!

How much would you pay for a ticket to a 3 day festival?
                      £150? £160?

They won’t be looking to take a 25% pay cut if they did anything like that.

I’ve booked me the Mrs and child for Alubufeira next Cheltenham for 11 nights from Belfast and it was a grand all in. Something different to try and gets me 4 days away from them for the racing.

anybody who’s been away is it east enough to get a bet on, online?

                          • Sorry I know not Cheltenham related or horse racing for that matter, but thought be cheeky to ask for opinions in here which might get bit more traffic.

Am I wasting my time? I Backed Nunez 2 or more assists in the FA Cup tie vs Man Utd. They have settled the bet as a loser, whoscored.com, opts stats etc says it was 1. If I ask Paddy, are they just going to come back with the generic response we use opta stats blah blah. Does anyone else see the Salah goal as a Nunez assist or my pocket taking over my sanity? Found different definitions which backs up for the benefit of doubt for me, but nothing clear cut on betting website. Anyone any glory questioning these bets in the past?

                            • Unfortunately, regardless of what you or I think, they will just say Opta stats are final.

If it's with Paddy, I'm pretty sure they have a statement saying they settle everything according to Opta so no chance there I'd say. If it's anyone else and there's no statement you could argue a case but I've never done so, so no idea how successful you'd be (my guess would be very little chance given it's the possibility of turning a losing bet into a winning bet).
