I think Kev started it for good reason.
I don't give a toss about the ground but would like it to be sunny on the Tuesday for obvious reasons.
My biggest single winner runs on the Tuesday and has a chance on good/good/soft.
Has virtually no chance on soft.Last edited by Carnage at Taunton; 1 March 2024, 07:23 AM.

I doubt they'll ever start the festival on ground faster than Good to Soft (Soft places) ever again, unless forecasts badly wrong.
Name the horse and I'll dispel the theory that it has no chance on soft for you

Well sometimes you spot a horse that you think is much too big a price if it gets the ground he needs.
So because it’s that price you think it’s worth it.
Hes been running ok this season despite the ground as he’s got class.
Good/soft should be ok, but no worse imo.
He’s in the Supreme but also the County which I’ve also backed him in nrnb.
Favour and Fortune.

Looks very much like the County though now.

If it’s looking like good/soft I think they will stick to the original plan Supreme
If it’s obviously soft or worse they will wait and hope it dries up during the week and go County.
That’s my take on it.

I think I'm in a bit of a rut, as I don't think I've ever been this close to the festival, and cared less about actually faffing with my books and things.
On the positive side, it's perhaps as I know there is very little value this week and next week in particular.... and that was a learning
but
I feel like it's because I'm just not really that fussed - there is even a race I haven't got anything backed in yet
Whole festival build up seems a little bland in my opinion this year - I'll try throw myself in to it this weekend

I'm really struggling to see a 2024 version of that type of bet as I'd happily take it now if I could see one but there doesn't seem to be.

Think it's because the arkle and turner's look crap
Then all the novice hurdlers bar ballyburn and the 3 mares also look crap
Stayers and Ryanair look crap
Con Hill likely not running
Short favs in champion hurdle, champion chase, mares hurdle, mares chase, triumph hurdle
A bit like the entire jumps season so far it's a bit meh
The BANC and mares novice hurdle the main races I'm looking forward too.
