I just don't think JP/Willie will divert Dinoblue to the Champion. Willie has El Fab/JP has Jonbon. Surely, they'll see Dinoblue as a combined penalty kick for the Mares Chase, although that needs to be caveated as there are rightly doubts over the trip.

    • After limerick lace won the other day has there been any post race comments re future targets from connections?

Exactly that....she's no penalty kick. Not ran in or even entered for a single Mares chase Race this season. Her last NINE runs have all been over 2m. Only ever ran over 2 1/2 once in 12 runs and got beat. The race she won at Leopardstown as per Saxons stats Willie sends them to the Champion Chase. Has good place claims in the CC and if anything happens to either EF or JB then she could spring a surprise.

There's not much at all going for her for the Mares Chase looking at the above apart from she's a silly price fav.

Fugitif might be a wild card

That’s a decent shout, very Frodon like… battler, also aware of how much connects love Cheltenham and that horse. Too high up in the handicap and loves the course and distance. Defo one for the “wild card” shortlist

edwardstone i will take a look at, I do like a ex-QM horse for the Ryanair but he’s been around a long time now, will take a look

I’d throw Apprecate It in there. Mulllies John Durkan horses tend to do well in the Ryanair.

Will need to sit down one night and work this through

                    • Just looking at entries for this coming Saturday at Sandown, you wear it well entered in the listed mares hurdle but no love envoi, anyone heard anything thought this was the plan for her after the fighting fifth?

                      • Paddy Power have adjusted the runners for the Big 3 grade on entries now, if you want to see who's still in.
The main racing sites have done articles but not yet got the lists up in full

If Dinoblue wins the 2M at the DRF do most still think they will send her to the mares chase?

She'd deserve to be a hot fav for that race given the likely opposition at the DRF

I took a strong position on her over the past few months for the mares race but now very concerned she could go for the champion chase.

I think she’ll go for the mares chase providing el fab and jonbon are both fit and well. An injury to either and there’s a good chance she could reroute.

                            • You'd want to see an entry for Dinoblue over something approaching the Mares Chase distance to have confidence that she'd go down that route imo. She's had 9 chase runs so far, all over the minimum distance and the only time she's ever run beyond 2 1/2 miles over Hurdles she got beaten into 4th. Not good reading.

She was beaten worse over 2 miles before the Fairyhouse run. Just a measure of where she was at the time. She was only just getting going over 2 miles at Naas this season and, being more mature now, is for me probably (but not certainly) likely to be better over a trip than at the minimum distance these days.
