Can't see how they can get away with closing an account with Open bets on it, without fully refunding them etc.

The Gambling Commission has an on-line form to submit enquiries but alternatively you could try e mailing them at:

They can't do that NW, they took my bets at the time and those bets remain valid until settlement, I am fairly sure I have solid legal standing here and if they were to offer refund I would take the matter as far as I am allowed to.
Aside from this it's clear Hills have become a shadow of the former business, someone mentioned it recently but their US operations have boomed and it's clear that is where their focus is, the problem in this country is the only media outlet that can call them out is the Racing Post who of course won't do that because of advertising revenue implications....

Same happened to me. Account closed but bets still open. I was told I'll be paid out.

Was this confirmation given by e-mail and from customer services GS ?

They're currently being taken over by a us company (https://www.racingpost.com/news/will...caesars/460002). Afaik there's a decent likelihood that the non US portion might be spun out separately and that could be interesting for us as punters, but either way it's hardly surprising that Cheltenham bet displays etc are low priority for them right now

Yes Ista you are right, although I'm aware of someone who was given the option.

On Resolver under Gambling complaints and also posted on the Onlinebetting.org.uk website are the following summary of consumer rights.

'If you have been limited or suspended the company can restrict your bets or stop you placing any more but they cannot hold your money from you without a valid reason. If you are suspected of fraud or you haven't verified your account then funds can be withheld, otherwise you should be free to withdraw.

The site cannot refuse to pay you out on a bet prior to limiting you, neither can cancel without reason any bets placed before notification that are yet to settle.

Likewise the company should honour any promotions entered into prior to being limited. You should be able to keep any free bets or promo cash already awarded until the normal expiry time.'

Just through my mates accounts. Fair play to him for putting up with me. He must be pissed right off with me badgering him every other day. That said I reckon he's probably taken on board some of my bets I've put through him which might be beneficial in the long run. We both respect the amount of knowledge/experience we have. He's a lot better than me though gambling wise and he really knows his stuff but we do feed off each other. I have managed to go on my bookie 'runs' (love road running) between lockdowns and place bets on my normal slips but they are more risky as no cash out is available. I'm very grateful to my mate though as this year I've been able to cash out a few with him and reinvest. I've said to him that I'll make it worthwhile for him and I will. I wouldn't be in the position I am now without him so I really do owe him. Along with my book I have a Fez betting syndicate with him and another guy where all 3 of us place ?20 each per month on a bet of our choice plus a patent and Ew treble ibetween us in the last Month (March). Even that portfolio is looking good ATM so we are all well happy.

I simply can't go there Ista. If you knew the mess I was in 20 years ago then you'd understand. It would kill me and my marriage. I have thought about opening accounts to use them during the week and then closing them after.............. however, I just can't go there. It could open up old wounds and that is not a place I ever want to go again.

With that in mind, you might want to reign in your betting advice you seem quite happy to give out all the time?

I know it's tongue in cheek, but you often say people should back things .... but if you're not doing it yourself (and for what sounds like good reason) it means you probably shouldn't throw out 'tips' as often as you do?

By the sounds of it, you wouldn't want people to experience what you have, and I don't feel overall your posts back mantra up.
