4/4 for Cobden and Nicholls at Ascot. And Bravemansgame beaten at Haydock... That's annoying.

Gabby's Cross 33-1 pertemps looks reasonable value.
I believe the trainer has stated it's the target. So as an antepost pick this helps.
Qualified today with an eyecatching ride.
Lower mark over hurdles and generally wants a race like a pertemps, big field, decent gallop.
Should get in with a small raise for today and UK tax.
His last 2 second places were against very well handicapped horses - Buddy One and Jody Ted.
Negative's would be it's an antepost bet in a handicap.
His connections are not that sexy for this particular race, so his price really ought to hold for a while. Even potentially until March. (I've backed now as I expect he may go off at roughly half that and there is a chance the form gets franked further)
His UK mark may be higher than the norm given the formlines, his chase mark etc.Last edited by Quevega; 26 November 2023, 04:09 PM.

The Mullins operation will be working to try and peak at four times during the season, Christmas, DRF, Cheltenham, and Punchestown.
No easy task but the yard are pretty successful in this aim, year on year, as is Gordon with his early start and success each year, something that Gavin Cromwell is also capitalising throughout October/November.
I'll gladly eat my words if that doesn't work out for Willie but I'm happy to give all his a first run. Just wish I could get more than 3-1 on GDC.

Agree wouldn’t give up the faith, but FoS was supposedly under-cooked too todayFat Jockey Patron (est. Jan 2021)

Lucky for me I think it opens up the possibility further that West Balboa could head to the mares rather than the Stayers.

On the above, both Love Envoi and You wear it well are in final entry stage for Fighting Fifth and taking on Constitution Hill. If they run him close or if he blows out then perhaps one or both could go Champion Hurdle route. All very interesting.
