I have long suggested that IEP would be willies champion hurdle horse. Was informed following Cheltenham. I wouldn’t post any disinformation or tuck anyone away, but I can’t feel that it’s just fallen on deaf ears. Very difficult to dissuade the turners backers on this forum that there’s another viable option. We are we’re we are. I feel a lot of willies post race comments have been a little impetuous and not thought through. But people pick up a phrase they like and count it as gospel. It’s the magic of antepost betting. We don’t always get it right, but often the answer is staring us in the face.

Can equally apply his post race comments to Gaelic warrior. Will he really go stayers hurdle when Willie has the first two in the punchestown stayers hurdle, no real strong opposition and he has no proper BANC horse. Lost twice over hurdles at last two festivals. Lose for a third time? No, over a fence and see if he fulfills his potential

6/1 this far out (whilst I agree is a good each way bet) isn't a good each way ante post bet in September IMO
If anyone is a fan of IEP and considering backing him now I think you're effectively backing a Constitution Hill injury.
I would suggest wait until nearer the time when the fav is 1/5 and IEP is a very similar price to what he is now, get all the NRNB protection plus all the extra places on your side...

Post race comments may dictate a specific target for Salvador Ziggy.
Or just the fact of where he goes next and importantly when he's likely to race next.
I'd say if he's going to be looked to be put away post race (like last year and like his past NHC winners), then it won't be for the grade 1.
Plus whilst i'm not sure Willie Mullins has necessarily the level of staying novice chasers as he has the past couple of seasons,
it's almost certain he'll still be able to call upon a 150+ horse in the NHC.
Gordon will know he may well need a mid 150 horse if he wants to win the race.
So i'm in no way thinking a win today particularly harms his prospects of going to the NHC.
I'd see it as a positive.
