Las Americas is where you want to stay then. Adeje is quieter but still nice. You can walk along the beach front to either and it's about 20/30 minutes.

        • Sounds very much like connections will retire Echoes In Rain if she finishes in the places in the Ascot Gold Cup.

Already discussing a trip to Frankel for her... worth noting in case anyone has backed her for March already.

I can see her running very well as well like Burning Victory last year who looked all over the winner 2 furlongs out. She could go out with a bang. Great ew prospects. She'll be held up for a late run and I think Ascot and decent ground will really suit her.

I did Tenerife for it this year Mike and I'm so glad I did, it was excellent, so so many bars make a big deal of it and loads of people go for that week so the atmosphere is great all over. Defo gonna go again next year, sitting in the sunshine drinking 2 euro pints with lots of like minded punters, what's not to like.

Think we got flights and apartment for ?340 each for 9 nights. So 2 weekends of football, the festival and its usually champions league week then too so if you love footy n racing it's a fantastic little getaway.

As for where to stay I would defo recommend Los Cristianos, plenty of bars open late 12/1am that are decent with sport and live entertainment every night. I'd recommend El Mirador strip and the Funchal strip.

Id avoid Las Americas, there's maybe the odd bar that is alright but on a whole there's a lot more of the tourist trap Irish bars with poor pints and double the price and its where the clubs are located so you get a lot more of the pissed up idiots.

Costa Adeje is nice too, alot more like Los Cristianos than Adeje but things are a bit more spread out, my preference is definitely for Los Cris but wouldn't put you off Costa Adeje.

One thing I would advise, is booking tables at bars a few weeks/a month in advance as I said its very popular, especially in the racing bars that have racing on day in day out. We booked 4 different places one for each day and it was great at all of them. I'd highly recommend Hoppy's Bar in Costa Adeje/Torviscas for the Thursday. Lovely pint and there's bars either side of it that do food, then straight after the racing has finished they have a really good singer on, and with a packed bar who have been on the beers for a few hours it made for a great atmosphere and end to that days racing.

Any other questions mate let me know, it's my favourite place in the world and iv been going 3/4 times a year for the past 15 years so I'm a bit of a tenerife cheerleader haha.

              • Cheers HoldenTheReins and Many Clouds. Will be flying out on the 10/3 but only for the week. Costa Adeje is looking good at the mo as found a All Inc which we like the look of so nice to know we can watch the racing in the town. Wont be booking anything for about a month but need to book by the end of July as we can get ?60 off each with Jet2. Just booked Hotel and tickets for the curtain opener at Chepstow as well as like there 2 day meeting in Oct.

Well they have CH at 175 which is probably too low, he’s a 180 horse to me, so you could well be right imo

                  At least 180 that is

Has to be a Kim Muir plot surely ?
Likely to get done by the classier Irish and I would hope Pipe has more sense than Hendo did with Mister Coffee, accept that and take the easier option, Pipe has OK record in Kim Muir…

I was but the bookies all shortened him up on the back of the entry so missed the prices.

Yep. With Hubrisko in there the Maxxum form will be tested so we can compare form.

I'm happy with what I have got on Maxxum at a decent price, I'll prob do a little double with the Greek today and try to get Salvador in board to boost the price
