Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

On my mobile RP site there is ref to a Navan race which produced a2025 Festival star and that this years Navan race looks likely to do the same. The article is protected so I’m not sure which race or horse they are talking about. I revisited last weeks Navan card and could not see any race winner likely to win at 26 festival. I even revisited last years Navan card and none of the winners won at the 25 festival. So I’m mystified - can anyone shed light on the puzzle?

    Bloody annoying that.

Example race is Kentucky Derby, it's a market online but not in shops.
    Yes I've experienced that.
Equally annoying is Hills who won't take ante post bets over the counter, you are sent to a machine and more than not stakes are limited.
Be prepared for the occasional 'what sport is this', or 'we won't have prices for racing next year' from the idiot cashiers, it can be a test of patience but is generally OK....

I think if you do it direct from Paypal using your card it still shows on your bank statements as it's linked.
Yes. Just put your betting balance into PayPal and do everything from there.

I'm in a similar position to Kev. Have the use of a friend's accounts with a few of the major bookmakers but feel I'm on borrowed time. When these go I can't think of another person I could ask. Been gambling nearly all my adult life and have exhausted family and other friends. Luckily, his accounts were well established, he'd just stopped using them and was open to me taking them over. If you were starting from scratch I can't imagine many people being ok with the initial KYC stuff, before you even get to the more invasive affordability checks to seed the accounts with funds.

My plan B is to use the exchanges. Will more or less mean the end of ante-post punting as the liquidity is so poor until much closer to the event.

as someone who has exhausted friends and family accounts over the years please be aware that nowadays when young folk apply for Mortgages or loans, gambling can go against their applications , was a friend told me this as he was going to use his sisters account, but she had to say no , didn't want large sums moving out her account

    Yes

Worried about the affordability checks now - I use a mates account and he'll be well within his rights to just say 'no' depending on what they ask

I give him 5% of whatever I stake over the year as a 'thank-you' and hope it keeps going....

It'll be a very big decision to decide what to do next, when it gets kaboshed

I think this is pretty standard for most winning punters. You start off opening accounts in your wife/partners name and then this moves on to siblings and their partners and then your mom and dad and then non gambling friends. My cousins will be next for me....
