Officials are set to continue watering all three courses in the run-up to the Cheltenham Festival, with the prospect of significant rain both before... Read More
A growing realisation that there won't be any significant rain during the week, which was mooted over the last week or so. If this stays the same, I think we can see continued watering over race week itself, although this is tempered by racing on the two courses, old for the first two days and then the new course for Thursday and Friday. Probably will harden views now against softer ground performers, but at the same time, if we fancy any, perhaps a bit of value on certain horses.

So if there's confidence in no rain during race week I would prefer them to overwater for the next 7/10 days in the hope some moisture remains in the ground for racing but that it achieves fair ground.
Bayoffreedom and archie will no far more than me but artificial irrigation never appears to be done well for me....

Cheltenham Trends expert Matt Tombs is here one final time to look at the hurdle and chase courses in recent years...
Apropos of nothing, I always go to spell his name Tooms. I watched too much X Files as a kid
