Just wondering does/has anyone else go abroad for Cheltenham week to watch it in the sunshine?
Went to Cheltenham last year for the Tuesday which was my first visit, enjoyed it but it didn't quite hit my expectations, queuing for ages outside, was in the cheap end and there was a fair few groups of young lads clearly there just to get smashed and coked up (I know we were all young once, but it was annoying) and obviously the prices are a bit daft for food and drink. I don't mind paying decent money for stuff even though I'm a Yorkshireman but it's around about the price where they are taking the piss so you feel a bit robbed. Wasn't allowed to take your drink into the area to watch the racing either so if you wanted a pint you had to go back behind the stand and almost down it inbetween races.
Im guessing it was the area I was in more than anything, but anyway a few of the lads along with myself wernt that keen to go back so we decided to go away for it this year and hope to make it into a yearly thing. So yeh, very long winded but has anyone else or does anyone else go abroad and how have they found it? Will be in Tenerife so if anyone has spent it there specifically then even better.Comment

Not done Cheltenham there but was in Lanzarote about 3yrs ago in March and most of the bars had uk racing on TV. Keep meaning to go back for Cheltenham week in the sun.Comment
