Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • Ayr abandoned an hour from the first race.

I know safety comes first but what a complete shit show.

Imagine being Kim Bailey right now, you've paid to send horses and staff on a 700 mile round trip and they call it off with 1 hours notice. Not good.

Yep shitshow from them, i'm all for giving it a proper chance but you know what the daily temps are going to be a full 24 hours prior. Zero excuses for a decision as late as that purely on frozen ground.

      • ....Zoe Davison has passed away, very sad. Two winners at Plumpton today is fitting.

I'm trying to show some discipline, its something that let's me down! Had a good day on Saturday and either lost that on punting yesterday racing or putting more ante post on. Won a fair amount on the Darts last night and as I say trying to fight the urge to just bet for the sake of it! Might try and hold off for nrnb now.

PP putting handicaps up was a curve ball and something for me to consider, bar that there's not much more appealing at the Minute, having a look through the sky RAB see if anything in there that tickles my fancy.

Fingers crossed no fallers! A few have hit me hard, could have been worse but still done damage!

            • 8:01AM - first thing I do the morning of a new working year is book the week in March off.

Someone else has booked it off as they have “plans” which means I can’t have it off.

              Gutted is an understatement.

Pull a hammy or claim food poisoning, failing that a family bereavement where you need to play the hero and support close relatives, do the admin etc usually works....

I'm lucky enough that I work in a team of around 16 and we get 25% there abouts to take leave quota. But safe to say as soon as that book Is open I'm in it! Don't really have much competition as not many race followers like myself in work, but I know as usually falls around St Patrick's day that period can be popular but I have my name well in before people even consider it!

Coughing fit on Tuesday morning, test Wednesday morning, Results Thursday. Temperature Friday, so book for a retest.

People have been doing this for months.

Obviously only if your business can survive without you.

                        • Thanks for the responses. I was very positive coming into 2021 that things would be better I.e the vaccine etc but alas, my year is ruined

I work for a medium sized family business which makes it even crueller really. My uncles own it and my cousin is basically top dog and in charge on the day to day- we all get on really great. Any family bereavements they would know about.

However the Covid cough and test might just work - although we are all working from home and have been since March 2020 if anything changes I’ll let you know!

Cant you just say you have been informed that you are a close contact of a friend who has tested positive for covid, so you'll need to self isolate for a number of days as you have been feeling ever so slightly under the weather and dont want to risk passing it to your family if you have it.

alternatively, trip over something belonging to your boss and go through a table in your office, and feeling guilty over being the cause of your "bruised ribs", he may give you a couple of days off to recover.

The Covid card is starting to appeal to be honest. Falling through a table does sound like fun - made me chuckle, thanks for cheering me up!
