I’ll see if anybody raises objections & happily open threads later if they don’t.
I think it was agreed we wouldn't have individual novice hurdle and chase race threads yet as we end up discussing the same horse across 2 or 3 threads like Dysart Dynamo and Sir Gerhard last year.

….ah ok, that makes sense. We can agree collectively when to open the individual threads.

I agree with this. It’s already fragmented enough in here with all the discussions happening on diary pages too. As most trips will be far from certain right now let’s keep them all together.

        • Is it possible for one of the moderators to set up a 2023 Bumper thread? Some of the info is falling into different threads, would be good to centralise it for the months ahead. Thanks in advance

Anyone can set up a thread PP.
I know there was/is a desire to avoid individual race threads until later in the season but I guess the bumper thread is one that can't cross into other threads which is where the frustration exists.
Feel free to set it up PP.....or anyone...

I always find these an interesting read.

American Mike not impressive on an overall time or sectional time rating.

Simon looks at Flightline's achievement on the clock at the Breeders' Cup, while keeping one eye on the awakening of the jumps season.

Simon Rowlands article which talks about the Down Royal runners.

Not particularly impressive stuff from any of them.

Likewise, Envoi near Identical circuit time to Fury Road and from 2 out and whilst He's a good horse Fury he's not got the toe Envoi has. Hcap run 1.6 secs quicker ext circuit and 1sec slower than Envoi/Fury from 2out just emphasis the below par runs from the graded performers on the day and Envoi lots to prove in a true run 3m still.

                • Well is that the kiss of death for Appreciate It winning the Arkle after he has been tipped up by Jennings on Upping the Ante.

I need to look up his record from his tips for the past few years

First decent tip he's given in a long long time IMO.

                    • Got to say I’m loving what I see from Johnny Dinesen so far. He’s a proper realist. Only wants winners and not these fancy prices like DJ that don’t win. Just the yankees for the championship races just sums them both up.

JD - win only ‘says it’s pointless betting ew this early on, throwing away two stakes if your horse doesn’t turn up’

Says he doesn’t believe any will win but playing for the placings!! I really don’t see the point, I’d rather just go all in for the winner like JD

I'd not read your comment before posting, so it wasn't a retort.

I'd just watched the youtube thing and he annoyed me with his thoughts on State Man, which whilst it's fair enough not to fancy the horse, the reasons were stupidish.
He's certainly not as well thought out as Gavin, who's logic was rarely questionable.

And whilst I get what he means with the looking for something that isn't there, we know that it often is there, cos if it wasn't we'd all be rich.
And you can split your stakes if you want to go each way. So the point he made there was also not well realised.
He seems a bit basic (like his fashion sense), which will be good in some situations but not others.

So far, it feels like most could offer what he has.

Not sure what it says about me but, after reading that, I had to go on and watch the start just to see what he was wearing

He looks like he shops at Matalan a lot (or at least his Mrs does)
