  • I think this has been discussed before, but I can't seem to remember. What's the deal with getting a handicap mark from the BHA, can anyone just e-mail them and request this?

    • What are Unibet like for requesting a horse to be added in a market? Are they slow to respond?

Not yet - has anyone else had a response to any queries?

Just been on with their live chat - about as useful as a chocolate fireguard. No answer to the cash out issue - operator just kept repeating that it was ‘traders’ discretion’.

Kicked off a little about the poor service and got the bet voided so not all bad but it doesn’t look good moving forward.

            • Thanks - bit wary of complaining and coming to their attention tbh. May just leave it and accept that it’s a point lost.

That was my thinking, didn’t want to draw attention.

Put a couple of virtual speedway bets on after just in case

                  • Does anyone know much about Oliver McKiernan and Cheltenham? I don’t think he’s had a runner in GB never mind Chelts. Am wondering if there’s a reason behind this or or whether he just feels he hasn’t had one good enough previously. Two of his I’m considering backing this year.

Whatuthink ran in the World Hurdle and at Aintree.

Follow the Plan won the Aintree Bowl and ran in the Arkle.

Probably his two best horses and he went to Cheltenham once each with them.

Thank you. That’s really helpful. I only used the five year search function on Racing Post. Should’ve gone back further.

                        • …Mick Channon retiring from the training ranks. He was a terrific footballer & he’s a good lad, here’s hoping he has a long and happy retirement.

He had a horse running in Melbourne years ago and I was lucky enough to be at a lunch with him. What a lovely bloke. They were heading to Japan afterwards if I remember right.

You should read 'How's Your Dad?' by Mick Channon Jnr if you haven't already Eggs. It's a good read.
