  • I don't really mind what we do, I have no life so plenty of time for me to read everything and see what I missed.

You've really got to decide if you want several threads with more sparse (but maybe repetitive) posting but easier to find info or fewer threads with more posts but potentially getting a bit cluttered making info harder to find if you're short on time. Best make a poll!

    • ….I think I’m of a view that in the first instance we drop down a level from ‘Early Fancies’ to ‘Novice Hurdles’, ‘Novice Chasers’ & individual threads for the Championship races as they are a little more certain.

Its only a step, but I think it helps navigation and good housekeeping. We can then put all the individual threads out when most of the candidates have had a run or two.

        Absolutely the right idea Eggs

The Paul Ferguson book is out next week.

The Mark Howard one, maybe a week later.

The Stable Tours will be next month through various channels.

We need to be ready with threads beforehand on Novice Hurdlers, Novice Chasers etc, or even Supreme, Ballymore.....

It's only the Handicaps that should definitely be clumped together as Handicap Hurdles and Handicap Chases for now (given we don't have a clue what Handicap mark any horse will have until a lot lot closer)

        • For first time reader, which book would you recommend as a purchase Jumpers To Follow or One Jump Ahead? Or do they each have their own added value and get both? Any strong opinions out there like to share

I like and have bought both again, but I've found OJA to be the more valuable of the two from an antepost perspective. I tend to feel like I'm already pretty familiar with most horses in JTF and when it lands on my doorstep I use it mainly to, hopefully, reassure myself I'm on the right track Whereas last year I felt like I learnt a few bits from OJA. Both are useful for reference as the season ramps up.

I think it's worth reminding myself that both books cover the National Hunt scene, not solely the festival, horses are allowed to and frequently do win other races but we all know what we're primarily here for.

              • Sky Bet trimming a lot of horses...........why today??

Maybe because FJ have their individual race threads up and they are running scared

They removed my free bets concession yesterday as well so they're obviously on a mission !

                  • Ian Ferguson has bought Notebook. Not sure if he will move from Henry to Gordon in terms of training but the intention is to go pointing and XC chasing. I'm requested a price now as I like Notebook and want to make up for the 5/2f third in the Arkle when I got 50s.

They're pushing more out than they are trimming. Take a look at the Champion Hurdle on oddschecker. They seem to think it's a three horse race,Constitution Hill,Honeysuckle, and Dinoblue

                          • Anyone who's pre-ordered Jumpers to Follow, you might be getting it earlier than next week.

I've had an email with my log in details and password to view it......BUT.....

                            It's not working

They've sent me a further email to say they are having technical issues with their digital publishing portal and will issue a further update in due course.

EDIT - I mean the digital version of course
