Rising fuel prices and other costs will mean less Irish horses will be sent to the UK this jumps season by the smaller trainers to the small meetings

Meaning the ones that are sent over, especially when just one horse is sent, will be worth backing

    Case study number 1

Battle of Benburb john Mcconell 4:05 sedgefield 9/4

Won first go at 3 mile looking like this step up to 3m3f would be appreciated
Good start to the theory haha

      • Every major stable has someone on some bookie's payroll. To expect to get stable inside information before the bookies, and at a public open day, is naive. Clearly, people connected with a particular horse might have inside information and it's very much up to them where and/or if they post it. Stable tours? Neh.

As I said, post where you prefer and I will read what I prefer. No worries. My loss.

Many thanks for that. Great watch. Love the new guy Johnny Dineen, forgot about that other geezer already! Love what he says re American Mike avoiding Facile Vega in the Ballymore and going for the Albert. Makes complete sense. He's written off Honeysuckle as well......... getting worried now !
What he says about not backing Constitution Hill at today's price also makes sense. His lay of the meeting is very, very eye opening. Sounds like he's ultra keen on Capadanno in the Gold Cup and not very happy on the ride he was given in the RSA! Wonderful stuff. Real food for thought and I think I'll be following him in on a few this season.

What was it? Video is private now.

Have to say that while I liked Gavin Lynch and the pair of them together in what was an entertaining show each week, he rarely, if ever, came up with anything this place wasn't already weeks or months ahead on. And his twitter 'punting pointers' are parody levels of bad.
Relatively new to all of this so can't pretend to know anything about Johnny Dineen, but he seems well regarded by racing twitter so i'm really looking forward to what he comes up with.

Yeah, I found him incredibly refreshing, strangely, as when I saw him initially I had thought who on earth is this guy

Doesn't beat around the bush, just gets on with it

Jonbon for either the Arkle or the Turners.

His bets for this week were American Mike for the Bartlett & The Nice Guy for the BANC, DJ's was Zanahiyr for the Stayers.

Eye catchers from last seasons festival/season were Hollow Games (as a handicapper), American Mike, Authorised Speed & Capodanno.

                  • He had two lays .........Jonbon who he just doesn't rate, thinks he's average, and he also said he wouldn't back L'Homme Presse at 1000/1 for any race at the festival with stolen money.

Thanks, I can see why he'd be against Jonbon, he's not one i'm hugely confident about either, I don't think there's a huge amount of depth to the Arkle again though and as we saw this year, it's a race that can fall apart a good bit. Hasn't put me off, if he turns up he'd still be first or second fav and I really do think he was always a chaser, with anything over hurdles a bonus. We shall see of course, good to have someone on it not afraid to make such calls and make things a bit more thought provoking!

American Mike being by Mahler is enough to put me off punting him as fav in one of the toughest antepost non handicaps there is to find the winner! Everyone will be glad he likes The Nice Guy though! Might have to watch Capodanno runs back a bit today...

Thank you too. Looking forward to watching this now! Two from two at Cheltenham including at the festival, pretty bold call, although when you see what could line up for the GC he'll almost certainly be heading for, perhaps looks bolder than it really is. Again though, thought provoking stuff, sounds like it'll be a belter of a show this year.

Said he's just a mud lark and that it just fell right for him on the Wednesday when it lumped down. Was damming of the Capadanno ride too. Found out in decent ground at Aintree. Basically thinks he's shit.

JD won't be happy. Think the record of Bumper winners going on to win the Supreme is 2 in it's entire history. That said, I do think Facile Vega will win any race he ends up in .
JD did say he'd buy FV over Constitution Hill. That's how highly he rates him.
