  • With one final race to go - just want to thank each and every one of you lot on here. My first FJ antepost ride and what a time it’s been.

Quality stuff and have learnt a lot from several on here through the year.

Good luck in the last and can’t wait to hear about everyone’s results, hoping a life changer has landed for at least one of you out there.

    Cheers.

    • Huge come down from last years festival, but that was expected. Pretty much went against every grade 1 fav this week - and paid the price

Two good handicap wins, and then the GC was hedged so I profitted from A Plus Tards got up for the week, but only by a few points, enough credits to get me through next season

Just typing up my lessons learnt, its lengthy, I need to start later in the year, I think I was studying from September and felt a little fatigue and pleased to see the back of the festival so I could log off and go somethign else. Think I'll start a week before the first meet at Cheltenham, and keep it light all the way up to December.

Second this and great post Knockando.

The thing I love most is just how passionate everyone is on here with the racing. I feel the betting and profits (or losses) is second (a very close second) to the spectacle.

That "please don't take me home" chant is the bane of live sport these days

I went to a test match at Edgbaston and it was chanted for 4 hours non stop practically

Rugby and golf are the only safe haven from it

I feel like I was at the same test match... about an hour into the game and it started. Did my head in. You haven't got to go home for like 5 hours yet you bunch of pillocks, so shut the f**k up and enjoy the game!

Unfortunately that pretty much sums up the crowds from this week, more interested in alcohol than the racing. As much as I enjoyed it, not sure I'll be going next year. Maybe look into getting a box/seat instead.

In fairness, to the jockey club, they need to make money don't they. And Cheltenham is obviously their main opportunity to do so all year. Can't really blame them... As long as there's no actual trouble of course.

                        • Anyone know if there is any way to check older settled bets with Betfair sportsbook. I can see the reference number and its settled as a winner but I cant see the horses that were in the bet. Usually very easy with any other company.

                          • The prices were a shambles as reported in the racing post.

?14 for a gin and tonic that would last no longer than 10 seconds. Surely they can get a better lager than Carling as well? Or is it in bulk it is that cheap and can sell so overpriced! Apologies I can’t take to Guinness ladies and gents, but even still similar price ?7!

                              • Just wanted to say thanks for everyones thoughts and opinions throughout this season, also i never knew skybet would pay out a request bet despite a horse was declared a non runner. Had an 80/1 request bet for horses to place and buddy rich was one of them but skybet paid out anyway since all the others placed. I thought it was going to he void and was surprised it actually won.
