  • If you've never seen him in the Big Bash talking from the pitch to the commentary team telling them how he's going to take the wicket, look it up. Full blown genius level stuff

    • Loved everything about Shane, was such a great guy. His enthusiasm for the game was infectious, got lucky to see him play and Captain Hampshire for 3 seasons, will be truly missed.

      • Genius and legend are much over used terms nowadays. Shane Warne was both .

          • RIP Warney.

As is my warped little interest on a daily basis thinking about Kabongo Tschimanga, I noticed today that 365 have re-opened the top scorer market. If anyone is inclined, Cheek is 7/2 to be top scorer which is fair odds to hedge on for those interested. Kabongo is priced at 2/5 - which I would think is a little short, in reality think it will be down to the wire so the Cheek price is actually not bad.

I'll refresh my running National League top scorer analysis tomorrow, and let's all just sit and hope that Cheek draws a blank tomorrow. Apologies to any FJ who is a Bromley fan.

            • William hill has had market open for about a week, Cheek is 4s. Still think Mullins might come on strong. Would be nice to see Bet365 give some sort of cashout, nout as usual

              • I know we're a long way a way from the finish but if Cheek and Kabongo finished level, is the payout football's version of a dead heat, and the odds are halved?

5 rings a bell, but I'm not certain

                            • Yes that sounds correct Stormez.

This message from Betfair regarding their AP exchange markets last year, so would assume the same again:

“we'll have a normal 5-day confirmation stage (markets will suspend at 12:00 pm) and then AP markets will be suspended at 10:00 am 48hrs before the DOTR. So for Tuesday, all AP markets will be suspended at 10:00 am Sunday, Mar 14th. These markets will not reopen and we'll have a Day of the Race (DOTR) market available as well as our live feed”.

Completely agree with this and previous posts, he was the most obvious captaincy material, and it was only the off-field stuff that prevented him from captaining Australia for dozens of Tests in the second half of his career. He'll comfortably fit in the top few sportsmen that I had the privilege of seeing in the flesh, and am shocked that he's left us this soon - was down the pub earlier and raised a glass to him.

                                RIP Warnie.
