If I was William Buick, I’d be seriously considering a legal case against Murphy for robbing him unfairly of that title! Whilst it’s impossible to quantify & I’m not sticking the boot into OM, the findings today & that ban just should not enable him to keep that title as he’s effectively cheated in order to even ride & win it!

Who would want a title in those circumstances, I can not see any merit in runners-up being award prizes, it's not as though there is a lack of prestige for Buick.

So he popped over to a couple of Countries & decided to take no notice of the stupid rules, like quite a few other prominent people. As for the drinking, cant see that being a positive for winning a race. No way Buick would want the title based on that nonsense.

No, my point being he should have been banned for a number of days / wks in the season & as such probably wouldn’t have ridden as many winners. Like a few have said though, what does the flat jockeys title actually mean anyway. Buick has the better job & career so I’m sure he just shrugs & moves on
