What surprises me is the book builders like you are able to get your required stake on and no-one seems to be hounded by the compliance teams demanding a financial interrogation of your lives.
Obviously I have no idea what your pound per point is but backing 100+ horses ante post must tie up a fair bit of money so I’m surprised everyone manages to avoid issues…

A lot depends on how much you stay on top of things, the decisions you make, and when you make them. It's also been a bit tougher this year with 365 being so sharp.
I use 15% as a benchmark, but for those with less time I'd say 20% is acceptable. Last year was the lowest I'd ever had and was a bit of a freak year for most of us.
Another way of measuring is by working out what percentage you are beating the current odds by, and then again what percentage you beat sp by.
Ultimately though the true measure is your P&L.Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

I worked mine out the other day and losses of around 45% but think I may have calculated it wrong. I’ve worked it out from live to lost instead of total staked to lost.
Was a little worried myself until the penny dropped I’ll likely be around the 20-25% I reckon as well. Last year was very lucky pre-festival for injuries etc.

Typically it would be 15-20% for me though.

I've had 1 losing Cheltenham's in last 11 and that year I had 7 or 8 horses that traded at evens or lower in-running that got beat, but don't think it was the same year as the ante post disaster.
