    • Paddy Power and Betfair's CASHOUT has gone full turbo again this morning, rather than being just Stakes returned.

It's the same for all their Cashouts

          • Has anyone had a problem with Betfair's customer service. I am having a terrible time trying to withdraw money from them. They are putting th e blame on me, or rather my bank. Just wondered if anybody has experienced anything similar. They don't offer any facility to speak to them or even email which is worrying.

They have a live chat? I've never had any issues contacting them myself, although keeping hold of an account is another problem altogether.

                  They're horrific.
They don't have an e-mail customer services team that can be contacted, if your query is escalated to someone beyond the live chat you will exchange messages with someone straight out of a multi purpose overseas call centre who doesn't understand betting, I have an ongoing exchange dispute with them but literally no contact for two months, it will end up with lawyers.
In my experience they are probably the worst of any I've had reason to contact...

                  • I'm guessing that there is no answer to this but i'm gonna ask anyway

For someone who has been betting for the 2022 festival since the end of the last one, what percentage of total points staked would it be deemed acceptable to have already lost ???? (i use the word acceptable loosely)

I;m trying to update after todays entries and have already lost just over 18% of my total points staked, this will undoubtedly be 20% by the time i finish updating !!

Don't get me wrong i'm really happy with some of the positions i'm in but 1 in 5 bets already gone seems a lot

Depends on strategies and these vary quite a bit, but I'd say around 20% would be average, reckon I'm on or around that.
Maybe even a little below average to be fair.

Going from memory (although pretty sure I'll have the data for my own somewhere) but that seems around average for me.... but I did/do back a lot of horses and make books.

I've definitely had a couple of festivals at less than 10% though, usually between 10% and 15% when all the singing and dancing is done.

It also probably depends where you record losses from anything cashed out.... and sometimes profit from any of those can skew NR's, so I keep it seperate.

Yeah it should swing the other way when NRNB starts to have an effect.

                          • Joleg not sure if this helps but I'm at 12.6% gone, 34.9% cashed out and 52.5% live.

Obviously there are the Dysart Dynamos of this world who are doubtful runners which that doesn't account for, so depends how brutal you are with marking them off as non runners too. I still have State Man as a live bet for example but I'm not expecting him to run. I also don't do roll ups so that might alter those figures too.

                            So basically... I don't know

What a very good point, I have gained a little from cash outs but have been using initial staking for calculations. Good idea to keep seperate, which i will do next time

                                I'd go along with this.

My style, a scattergun approach (with reasoning I like to believe ) is fairly aggressive in terms of number of bets and also requires a lot of faffing about.

Last season I ended up over 20% pre-festival losses, my highest ever, which had me concerned for a fair while, though in reality in was highly unlikely I wouldn't hit a few winners, and in some races I was all but guaranteed the winner.

This season I'm currently sat at 14.25% which is guaranteed to go up once entries and then decs start coming. If I manage to stay below 20% I'll be happy.
