  • Have posted this in my diary this year rather than make a new thread, as it's late and a bit pointless but I hope some people may want to read it....

Cheltenham 2021 Analysis - What did I learn, with 2022 in mind

.....and if not I'll never know, it's win-win.

      STD’s it is

yeah he did get shit on by Nicholls and owners following the years after his Gold Cup win. I did hear a few rumours the win on Denman went to his head but when you’re young and you win the biggest accolade of all as a jumps jockey it’s natural I suppose to be a bit arrogant, I’ve achieved next to nothing in life and claim I’m a king so if I won a Gold Cup I would open my own church. He’s doing very well as a trainer though, he’s developing a reputation for choke out chasers and they are very exciting to watch

      • Is there a way to get an email notification of a post in the 'Out of the 2022 Festival' thread? I was working today so didn't find out about James Du Berlais until it was too late and cashout was removed by those friendly bookmakers.

I’m far from an IT genius but I think I’d be right in saying this wasn’t possible.
You can subscribe to a specific thread but you will need to have FJ up and running in order to see the notification…

There appears to be something in user settings about email notifications, but I'm not sure what that does. I don't know if you can get one just from a response in a thread as I don't subscribe to any threads. Might be worth a try...

I've got that to work sporadically, but the emails usually end up in my spam folder.

Last one I got the OFTS thread was 17th October, nothing since. But it does work... sometimes.

Great read Kev, glad you’re well and getting back into the swing of things!

I have to say I was kind of struggling for the ‘appetite’ the last few weeks but these last few days have got me hooked!!

                Here’s to a great 21/22 season mate!

                • …..sounds like Cumbria is flooded after being hit by torrential rain, I wonder if the meeting at Carlisle is under threat. The Colin Parker Chase on Sunday could be very informative.

                  • Can I ask who runs the WhatsApp OFTS to send me a private message to add me please?

I am definitely going to struggle to see these threads in the next while with work and also the missus is due Hogmanay.

                    • There’s a whatsapp group for this? Just managed to get out of JDB yesterday, but if there is one I’d appreciate being able to join. With the day job I often can’t log on for a few hours at a time.

Great post. As a newcomer to horse racing everything seems not quite clear to me, I need to dig deeper.

Been consistent rain the last day or so but it is dry in Carlisle now and flooding is very localised away from the city - more towards the Lakes.

Would have thought very unlikely the meeting is at risk and if anything will make the ground nicer as it was still good to firm up until last week.
