    True, I forgot that.
I'm sure they've got a strategy but for me it just seems mad that you have a top quality mare and a proven top quality sire, 4/5 years from now you could have the next Annie Power or Douvan under your ownership, unwillingness to wait maybe ? Happy to hit the sales and get immediate payback ?

Too much risk associated with the breeding game. For every Urban Sea there a thousands of failures. Quevega is a recent example off the top of my head of having well bred, expensive and exotic offspring which to date have not been up to any sort of standard. Much easier to scout the French market and hand pick the talent. It's served the Ricci's well to date and with Gigginstown no longer in the picture, they have a better pick.

      • For these very early closing sales, Willie will often enter horses just in case without necessarily telling the owners. It's a bit annoying but it doesn't cost anything.

In the case of BDD, they've presumably put her in foal to a top (and expensive) sire with the intention of selling her for as much as they can and it's not inconceivable that a private deal will be done before the sale on the basis of the publicity generated by Tatts.

        • Worth noting that both b365 and Sky have suspended Galvin during this race but PP left open..

          • Anyone finding the start of the season, rush for prices, stable tours etc a tad overwhelming? It's generating a weird sense of FOMO, and actually feeling grateful for being busy at work so having time to pause and think about what my opinion is!

It's pretty constant Lobos in terms of the amount of information being fired out at the moment via stable tours, odds contracting, etc, and it's reflected in the amount of activity on the forum. Does it keep up at this pace right through to March?

Might need to invest in a tablet so I've got a bigger screen to gawk at this forum, my eyes are getting burnt out squinting at my phone

It gets worse from here on in. Stable tours are one thing but a lot of the info does turn out to be bollocks to put it mildly. Horses being entered up is what it's about and actually racing on the track (Galvin yesterday for example) is a where we get our info and when we start to build the bigger picture. Exciting times.

Yes! Started a temporary promotion at start of month and want to make a good impression to try get it extended, but trying to keep up with everything is hard going, lunch and tea break constantly on here looking info and advice (big thank you to everyone so far) I'm easily distracted the best of times but all these stable tours coming out is leading me astray, need to sort my priorities

I guarantee that every horse they pick would have already been backed at bigger odds by plenty on here. Long live FJ !
